Haha wow this has really become a thing, hasn't it?

Anyway minor note because I hate not answering questions.

Destiny knot selects 5 IVs RANDOMLY from BOTH parents. Therefore it doesn't matter which parent has them, and it doesn't matter if both do.

If you throw in a power item, the appropriate power item stat WILL be passed, but the destiny knot selects only 4 of the remaining 5. Basically, one stat will always be random.

Need moar elite foar guiz. I'm happy being the TOWER DUDE.

So I came up with a concept for my gym puzzle. Since it's a Ghost gym, my mind immediately went to gigantic ominous pipe organ. The idea is that the player travels through the pipes to reach various buttons scattered around the gyms that change where various pipes lead. As you step on a button, the organ plays a chord. The final button before the gym leader's platform will play a B dominant seventh chord to build up tension for the fight, and then the button that provides a quick way back to the entrance after you've won (but only once you've won; Ramos proved you could do that) would play an E major chord. Interesting trivia - the key signature for E major has four sharps. I came up with this right before going to sleep last night.

Gym Challenge involves a big outdoor park full of punching bags and fighting mats and various martial arts equipment strewn about seemingly totally randomly. Captain is right at the entrance to greet you. He informs you that he'll battle you as soon as he's checked on everyone. You must then go to each station in turn, where you must fight each gym trainer. Captain is always there watching but out of reach at the start of the battle, but by the end he's gone and has moved on to the next gym trainer. Finally, you meet Captain at the back in what appears to be a boxing ring, where you can at last challenge him.

Gym Trainers:
Youngster Freddy- Tyrogue, Hitmonchan, Machop
Lass Iona- Tyrogue, Hitmonlee, Timburr
Youngster Greg- Tyrogue, Hitmontop, Machop, Timburr

oh my GOSH aromatisse is SO UGLY in-game
after my initial knee-jerk reaction of "NO WHYYYYY", i started ALMOST warming up to it a little bit, and i thought maybe it could end up being almost tolerable, but ughhhhh it is just awful when you actually see it in 3D
also, it is not a bird. at all. it has clawed fingers, and non-clawed toes the same color as the rest of its legs, and that "beak" never opens so it's probably just its nose.
also its cry is pretty terrible too

slurpuff on the other hand actually looks better in-game
i mean, it's still lumpy and fat and not a poodle but its animations make it pretty cute to be honest

anyways
after i got that shiny goomy i trained him up some and i was looking forward to getting to actually use him for real in some trainer battles
then, in the very next city after the swampy place:
a fairy-type gym, and all nearby areas and routes are conveniently roadblocked off until i beat the gym leader
gaaaaaame whyyyy
i got myself that ferry budge though so NOW maybe i can start using him

in that vein, team flare got very serious very fast.

Woah woah woah wait one second, I thought Hytheter was Champion? Wow Hanky you really are evil, usurping him like that. I'd give you a righteous kicking via my Tower Team, but... Ehh couldn't be bothered.

Aaaand I'm not sure but would Amaura be kind of broken as first gym? Refrigerate packs a punch. On the other hand, the grass type starters are SE to both of those guys so that's okay I guess.

Though you'll be teaching bad habits to kids later. I STILL find myself thinking that ice is SE against rock.

Amaura doesn't get any attacks that can get use out of Refrigerate untill level 15, so I think level 14 Amaura is totally fine.

EDIT: Frost breath on the other hand might be pretty mean, since gen 6 boosted it's power up to 60...

There aren't many Ice TMs though. Of course I always just could say that X is a TM.

Btw, guys, I've just realized that this is totally RPable. One of us becomes a CHALLENGER, and then battles our Gym team with their team.

I'd love to RP that.

I'd like to be an early encounter with the player, long before they reach my gym, where I can be helpful and nice.

And not too much later they encounter some of the minions of team evil.

Better with a half rp/half nuzlocke thing with actual battles where possible, even on simulators if needs be. I mean, a gym leader is all about the battles... We're a pokemon forum... It's be weird NOT to actually battle??

I'd totally face someone using a Tower Team over a simulator. That sounds like a total blast. (True to tower things though, I'd tell you all my Pokémon/items/sets in advance.)
You could do a nuzlocke where only the route trainers and wild Pokémon risk death, and encounters with team Flare and the leaders would mean little but would trigger a real life simulator battle with the appropriate person? Just a thought.
