Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
- Spoiler:
- It seems kind of weird that Volcanion would have both the ring from the cloud gods and that name that suggests it's somehow connected to the musketeer Pokémon.
I wonder if this is relevant or just weird Pokémon design.

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
- Spoiler:
- The ring isn't anythin like the ring the "Cloud gods" have and as for the name, does it's japanese name resemble them, too? If not, it's probably just and odd translation

- Spoiler:
- Whoops, I guess I was just thinking of Landorus; the other ones do have different tails. I have no idea why I assumed they were the same. XD
But its Japanese name is simply Volcanion.

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
- Spoiler:
- Borukenion, not Volcanion in Japanese. But yes, when romanised, it's the same name, much like most of the legendaries these days.
I really like Diancie, it's just got a cuteness about it that I just love. When the names and typings originally came out for these, I was convinced that Carbink and Diancie were related somehow and the appearance hasn't changed this. It could either be a Carbink evo that's just got a weird place in the dex (the one I want the most but also the most unlikely), A Manaphy/Phione thing wherw Diancie breeds to make Carbink, or it could be a Mew/Ditto thing where the two are related, just not through evolution and not via an officially stated means.
Volcanion is pretty awesome, but there is one thing I dislike and that is its back arch. If it were more of a tail then I'd probably like it a lotmore.
Hoopa looks weird and is my least favourite out of the three. I don't dislike it, but it's gonna have to take some time forme to appreciate it.

I thought those were fakes when I saw them yesterday on my dash. Oh well.
To me, all of them look hindu inspired actually.
I'm not sure what that means.

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
- Spoiler:
- I totally agree that they look sort of hindu, especially the last one.
Don't get me wrong the last one is probably my favourite from the design (Not sure if I like or dislike the typing, after all, double weakness to both Ghosts and Dark?)
But yeah, I feel that, for a region based on France, they didn't do a lot of French things...

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
Another clue about the likely fakes:
Thoughts on legit leaks:
- Spoiler:
- Not only are they missing the Mega emblem, but the fact that Latios and Latias look identical is a major red flag that something's not right. That was actually what got me suspicious when I saw the photos on Serebii this morning.
Thoughts on legit leaks:
- Spoiler:
- Anyone who had X, does that Floette's flower match what you saw in the ending cutscene? I'm not terribly surprised about a Poké Ball pattern for Vivillon, and a Flower Garden pattern seems pretty plausible, too.

- Spoiler:
- I was about to say that I'd doubt that we'll get any megaevolutions for Legendaries but then I remembered "The Shame"
That said, how did noone discover those Vivillions before?
But if that Floette turns out to be true, I want to see its evolved form

- Spoiler:
- Wait, what. The Y ending is different???
Whaaa.
Anyway, since I already got accidentally spoilered (I should really block the pokemon tag on tumblr) about the ending of AZ's story, I can confirm, yes.
Also, I'm pretty sure you will appreciate this, OJ.

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
- Spoiler:
- OJ, it would probably be like the Spiky-Eared Pichu in HGSS, so you wouldn't be able to evolve it. That is, if it wasn't originally planned to be encountered during the story and was dummied out. And pD, I was asking mostly because the flower looks a lot like Yveltal, and since I have Y, I was wondering if it resembled Xerneas in X.

- They might not be set to be obtainable in any region. For example I can imagine that the Poke Ball Pattern is for special Giveaways. Not sure about the other one.

- Oh, no, it looks just like a normal Floette in X too. I'm pretty sure, because I actually saw it in AZ's story back in Team Flare HQ.

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
I do appreciate that link though I have the feeling I'd like it even more if I knew more about the story in this gen...
EDIT:
I went and watched the ending on youtube. (It seems a little silly but that's besides the point)
You were right, I appreciate it a lot

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
- Spoiler:
- Basically AZ is a 3000 years old King who once ruled Kalos. During his reign there was a war with another mysterious region (Germany?) during which his dear friend, Floette died. He has overcome with grief and built a giant machine that restored Floette's life, making her immortal, but to do this, the king stole countless other pokemon's life force, turning them into stones. After this, AZ guided by his burning rage turned the machine into the ultimate weapon, that ended the war basically by killing everything. (This is what Lysandre was trying to do as well, using the machine to clean the Earth from the unworthy ahemahem*Holocaster*ahemahem).
After this though, Floette, knowing what AZ done, left him. AZ after this basically became the Wandering Jew, looking for Floette for 3000 years unable to find her. Until the very end of the game when after realizing something Floette returned to him.
The machine symbolizes the Kalos Legendaries, btw. Xerneas, the one who gives life to everything and Yveltal, the one who steals life.- Xerneas:
X Legends say it can share eternal life. It slept for a thousand years in the form of a tree before its revival.
Y When the horns on its head shine in seven different colors, it is said to be sharing everlasting life.
- Yveltal:
X When this legendary Pokémon's wings and tail feathers spread wide and glow red, it absorbs the life force of all living creatures.
Y When its life comes to an end, it absorbs the life energy of every living thing and turns into a cocoon once more.

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
It's interesting how Xerneas and Yveltal's Pokédex entries are complementary. Their entries in their own versions mention them lying dormant, while the opposite version mentions certain body parts glowing while they use their powers.

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
Hmmm... I don't think THAT war necessarily has to echo any of the French/German wars. The French are defined as much by their civil war as they are by the world wars, if not more so. Besides, it was said that Kalos was wiped out, which would imply a civil war, right? Although who's to say it was even a single country then. 3000 years is a LONG time.
BTW where did it say they were turned into stones? I always missed that part and nobody has been able to tell me.

I'm pretty sure they weren't.
- Origin of the stones:
- The stones were grave markers for Pokémon.

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
I thought they were part of the machine and the pokemon had to be connected to the stones to have their life taken. That was just my impression though... Exactly where are people getting their info? Tierno and Trevor said something about freeing the Pokémon from the stones on route 10, I assumed that meant the ones Flare had assembled to drain, backing up my (misconception?) Idea.

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
I don't remember, to be honest. I know Team Flare tied up the Pokémon they caught to the stones, but that could have been for convenience (close by, keeps them immobilized) rather than a necessity to make the machine work.

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
^add on:
Dude those things were all leaked by the same source. If any of them are real, they all are. And anyway the no-mega emblem thing isn't a big deal, because since they're just regular pokemon data, the'd shown up in the wild like that without a triggering mega evo. Plus they're two halves of the same coin anyway, I was... Maybe 30% expecting the same mega, no joke. Not identical though. Just purple.

Does this further confirms the new leaks?

Anistar City. It contains a giant magic crystal sundial that lets you hunt down Mega Stones after you beat the Elite 4 (but only from 8PM-9PM).
