The In-Game PokéProject Thread!

Post by d_what on Sun Jul 21, 2013 4:27 pm

This is the thread for describing any in game projects you're working on! Breeding an interesting Pokemon? Soft resetting a legendary? Finishing the 'Dex? Building a team? Shiny-Searching? Perhaps you're niggling away at a Secret Santa gift?? Whatever it is, tell us about it! It's nice to know!

(This thread is also for asking for assistance with any of these sorts of projects :Dtesting, trading, theorymon, we are here to help!)

So I've been running through Black Tower and I only have Area 10 left to beat. Does anyone have any advice for beating Benga? My team is Serperior, Magmortar, Metagross, Walrein, Krookodile, and Unfezant, levels 78-80 all around.

My pokeproject right now is finding a Sandshrew on the dreamworld. Then it will be EV training it.

... You could ask one of us, assuming you have WiFi?
Ironically enough Sandshrew is one of 6 DW pokemon I should have but don't, alongside Kabuto, Lileep, Cacnea, Maractus and Shellos.

Aaaand I don't unfortunately, I get so bored by that thing I've never made it past 5. That and the fact that all my good Pokémon (besides Scrafty, SHARPEDO! And Arcanine) are in White.

I might have to do that. Dream world decided to make putting a pokemon to sleep a federal issue here and I can't try and reconnect until tomorrow. Speaking of which, do we have a trading thread? Because we should.

Well in the dream world I'm trying to get all my hundreds of berries back that got stolen from me =[
The dream world isn't too bad if don't spend the whole hour doing stuff. I was on for maybe 20 minutes just now with one visit to the pokemon area, a quick garden planting, added PhantasmalDexterity as a dream pal and then left. It isn't bad at all if upi got nothing important to do.

In-game I'm gonna breed a -REDACTED- and EV train it in the -REDACTED- stats for -REDACTED- for the secret santa. I'm also trying to think up the rest of the members for my own trained squad of elite mons.

And I agree with a trading thread.

heh, DW sanshrew is one of the few i do have. fortunately for me and unfortunately for everyone else, he is jolly.

d_what, i would love to accept/borrow a gligar, but i really want to give you something worthwhile in return, and i just don't have anything good. :[
i did manage to get a female whismur the other day, but i'm pretty sure i'm the only one who likes exploud enough to use it.

fakedit: wait, holy cow. apparently i haven't been to the entralink in awhile. cacena and mankey are there too. both male and meh-natured though.

Nonsense! If you're only borrowing it then you can give me a Patrat for all I care. It's best that they get used anyway, that way if I lose my game or something then between us we still have DW pokemon to use.
Also did I mention my Gliscor is called Marquise ::::]

Whoops I just remembered, I'm also looking for a Mawile - I used to have plenty, but they were a hot commodity back in the day so I ended up trading them all. Now with rumours of Fairy retype and possible Evolutions, I'm kind of regretting it.

I'm working on a bug run in leaf green, but you probably already know that. It was designed to be challenging, since bug types tend to be not as good stat-wise. And Kanto only has six bug-type families in the first place, so I don't have a lot of choices. Unfortunately, I can't find my gba wireless link, so I can't trade a scyther over from FR. I have to make do with five pokemon.

My team is as follows

Butterfree
Beedrill
Parasect
Venomoth
Pinsir

Next time I'm doing a normal-type run, and I'm gonna keep track of it on my tumblr this time.

That's the point, 'HIM'. Unable to be bred. Shame, too. I just checked my boxes, and nada.

Man bugs only got cool relatively recently :/ so Poison still has a shot!
...please?

poison won't be officially cool unless it's SE on fairy
please, gamefreak, please make that happen. i want to wreck cute things with my arbok and nidoking.

but i do have mawile(you do know they're catchable in challenger's cave?), unless of course you meant dreamworld, but i run into those things all the time, so i'll pick one up.

and so this post is on-topic, my goal is usually to catch every wild pokemon available in a given game.
BW2 gave me this wonderful thing called a medal box to waste time completing too.
the fact that there's medals for doing single-type and single-pokemon E4 runs makes me happy.
best medal is trash checker though.

I'd prefer if it was immune to fairy. It's a defensive type and would get more use out of that. Like steel does! A resistance and SE would be nice too though.

Haha I got that one Very Happy leftovers. Instilling paranoia about recycling since 1998.

What are you talking about? Poison pokemon rule

Have you ever used Weezing on a team? It has massive defense and learns lots of TMs, namely Thunderbolt and Flamethrower. That helped me out a lot in my Weezing solo run.

Only females can pass dream world abilities to their offspring. If you breed a male with a Ditto, it won't have its hidden ability.

Poison Pokemon rule... Because they're the underdogs. The game itself hates them and they try so hard to be relevant. I like Wheezing, and it's a great pivot. Is it a good poison type? And: it's the proverbial poison type. Poison types should aspire to be it. Is it any good? And: not compared to other things. Sad
If it wasn't for that awesome fighting resist they'd never ever be used. Which is why I'd prefer a Fairy immunity (even if it doesn't make sense.)
Or, and I've said this before, Poison SE Water. Which DOES make sense and it would skyrocket Poison... Albeit at the cost of nerfing a lot of Pokemon. But the good ones would still be good. (And Gastrodon and Quagsire would rule the roost.)

I personally don't see a problem with poison's type-effectiveness. It has great neutral coverage, and an advantage on Grass is pretty good; not every type can be a powerhouse. Plus, it's amazing defensively.

no, steel is amazing defensively. poison is only good. also steel has two SE, both of which are against major attacking types.
poison is pretty decent as is, and i love my poison 'mons, but the type seriously needs a boost. given psychic>poison, i can see it being immune to fairy somehow.

I can't think of anything I do midgame in Pokemon

But in Skyrim I collect every sweet food

Sweet rolls, Taffy treats, Honey Nut Whatevers, I've got it all.

Also a Gourd for some reason.

I like Skyrim.

That said, my plans for Pokemons are simple:

Once I've finished the elite 4 I will start breeding and EV training a better team. I like my team but with ome breeding and EV training they could be much better.

Once you beat the Elite 4 in Black and White, you'll also get the National Dex and access to older Pokémon, which will give you more options for your team.

Well I have white and I'm close to beating the elite four, so I'm sure I could trade you what you want if it's there.

And you'll be able to trade with people who have B2W2 and/or can transfer Pokémon up from Gen IV, so you will have a lot more options, assuming you can figure out the whole wi-fi thing.
