Actually that's a point. While I can see Alakazam using Spychick Majykk Aurorars, well... Why can't it do it already mind you there are loads of movepool anomalies like that so it's not really a problem.

And anyway it's naive to think Pokemon aren't designed and redesigned without reference to a metagame. Not the OU one, just a free-for-all metagame. Very rarely do GF give a Pokemon. EVERYTHING it wants. *coughcoughgarchompexcadrillterrakion* Presumably (I hope) because they know better. Otherwise, Rapid Spin on Ferrothorn and Spore on EVERYTHING!!!!

In case you didn't know: Alakazam can learn Focus Blast, an attack based on the idea of using ones "Chi" to attack an opponent. Aura Sphere is based on a VERY similar concept, so saying that a Pokemon that can learn Focus Blast feels fitting to be able to learn Aura Sphere is really no big stretch

Mind you, the only Poemon who can learn Aura Sphere but CAN'T learn Focus Blast are Togekiss, Dialga and Giratina.

That reminds me, why the hell can Togekiss learn Aura Sphere?

Okay I had the same thought about togekiss, but then togekissis just a wierd pokemon in general.

And okay cAs +OverlordJs arguement up there makes a good point in that movepools are sometimes wierd. Aura sphere is at least somewhat (togekiss notwithstanding) consistent though.

This was my question from the start. It makes Togekiss way more useful than it deserves to be.

What was wrong with Togetic as the last stage, thier head was wierd and all but least I was happy with that as the final stage of evolution. It goes from pencil neck to no neck.

Because Togekiss is a fairy (...well probably) with special untapped potential! TBH out of 649 pokemon, so many of them will have aura powers, why not Togekiss?

And metagame wise it really, really needs it. I take it you've been parahaxed once too often, Drega? Or do you object to the fact that it looks like and is about as aerodynamic as, a flying double-decker bus?

Both. It's a dumb design and it's stupid and I hate it and want it to die. >:C

Guys, for the discussion about Alakazam I took a closer look at it's possible movepools through the different gens. I knew that Alakazam had quite a few phsical attacks, I just didn't realize how MUCH it likes hitting stuff. A little odd for a psychic type.

Gen 1:

So while Alakazam gets less physical moves every gen, it still seemed funny to me how many punching moves it can learn.

I guess so. The whole evolution line seems dumb to me, but there were a lot of stupid things that came out of Gen II.

No, sorry. I personally think that Togepis line lookes worse the further it evolves.

Togepi looks like a cute little egg thingy.

Togetic looks like an okay looking fairy thingy.

Togekiss looks like the bastard son of a beheaded bird and a flying egg. It reminds me of a certain kind of monster that looks like a normal bird but has actually a giant mouth on it's body. I am not 100% sure why but none the less, I think it's the most ugly out of its line of evolution.

To me it seems like Togekiss is more what Togepi looks like it should evolve into. I've never really liked Togetic much but I like the other two.

I really like the togepi line. All of them look cool. Togetic looks like an awesome dinosaur thing, and Togekiss is like a nice fluffy bird or something. I actually have no idea what it's supposed to be but I love its shape. I don't care what people say; I like a lot of evolutions introduced in gen IV

Yeah I liked those evolutions too but Togekiss just stands out as the worst to me. The rest are all awesome.

They had me right up until Toxeon. Having a second one would be totally pointless, it'd be... Luigi. Plus also laaaaaaame. We have enough eeveelutions thanks.
