Trace is excellent for Friend Safari. Hordes not so much.OverlordJ wrote:
Besides that, another option I like to use is Ralts and it's evolutions (not counting Gallade) though I am not sure how Trace would interact with horde battles.
Then again, Ralts and it's evolutions learn Hypnosis, which makes them doubly useful for Catching wild Pokemons.
Lastly, I'd really suggest trying to get a mon with Sweet Scent, which supposedly makes horde battles more likely in this gen.
Maybe a Amoonguss with Sweet Scent and Spore?
Sweet Scent actually guarantees a horde. Otherwise finding my zubat would have taken forever. I had to wade through enough Wismur hordes already. Though I did find a shiny one so I guess that's kinda cool?
Whoa whoa whoa hang ond_what wrote:and sadly Ground/Flying is NOT good coverage.
Ground/Flying is excellent coverage. Everything that resists Flying is hit SE by Ground and vice versa, it's only flyers and levitators that can resist the pair.
In fact, according to this it hits more type combinations super effectively than almost any other attack type pair (only Ground/Ice is better), and comes fourth for hitting things for at least neutral.
Of course, that chart uses type combos that don't exist and fails to account for abilities, but it's definitely a decent indicator.
As for Moxie, it is very situational. I only mentioned it because it is a nice boost when the cards fall that way.

We would make a terrific team; me and captain would run around and except every quest that people throw at us (even the ones where you have to find the chickens (especially the ones where you have to find the chickens)) much to the dismay of OJ, OJ would make sure we always get a reward and iT, well, iT would just be there cause why the hell not.

I legit think that LE and NG is a workable combination, with some really dynamic and intriguing interactions.

Re: Pokemon game discussion
True Neutral is fine. And I am okay with Good beings, after all, I'm neither a villain nor an asshole.
But I do not like chaotic people. To be fair, Chaotic neutral are probably the ones that are the least "bad" but that's still not something I like.
But yeah, I can get along with Neutral Good people, though I'd definitely prefer Lawful Good if possible.

Re: Pokemon game discussion
There are no ranks, there are alignment.
There is how much you care about Law (Lawful, Neutral, Chaotic)
And there is how much you care about Moral (Good, Neutral, Evil)
And if you are Neutral on both, you're called "True Neutral" because Neutral Neutral sounds stupid.
P.S.: There are quite a few popular tests you can take to find out your alignemt but I'd suggest clicking on this link, if you giggle, like I did, well, you might be evil.

I tried to sort of make it into a chart but this was the best I could do this quickly

Re: Pokemon game discussion
Not all Chaotic Evil people have to be dicks, either.
In fact, a good troll can't be chaotic, they'd have to be neutral at least. Because Chaotic peoples are against the rules and a good troll tries to make OTHERS break the rules while technically not breaking them himself, thus causing trouble for others. That's certainly evil but NOT chaotic.

Re: Pokemon game discussion
Are you implying that trolls could be Lawful? Because that's certainly impossible. Lawful would never disrupt order, not even for others.OverlordJ wrote:they'd have to be neutral at least
Very few troll do what you described, actually. I know only one person who would fit that description and I've certainly been around a lot of places. 83 out of 100 trolls only gets to the "FIRST POST LOL" part of the trolling to begin with.OverlordJ wrote:Not all Chaotic Evil people have to be dicks, either.

But you're right, some trolls are more neutral than chaotic. However, there's something important we shouldn't forget: D&D is a horrible system when a person is three dimensional, and it's only useful to create a rough canvas which upon you can build your character. As soon as you start thinking about it too deeply, it falls apart.
- Troll:
- Troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people,[1] by posting inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a forum, chat room, or blog), either accidentally[3][4] or with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[5] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

Re: Pokemon game discussion
Well, we're talking about different kinds of trolls then.
I am obviously talking about those who have crafted the act of causing other people to give in to their anger and break the rules into an art.
I admit, most, if not all people, who call themself trolls these days do NOT deserve to be even compared to these people.
That said, I disagree. A Lawful person, especially an Evil one, can indeed use the tactic of tricking other people into breaking the law as an efficient tool to combat them. That is not an unlawful act, as you purposly do it in order to get the other person into trouble.
I don't know if you have ever played Morrowind.
A strategy that is awefully similar to what I'm trying to describe here is detailed under the spoiler.

A strategy that is awefully similar to what I'm trying to describe here is detailed under the spoiler.
- How to "troll" NPCs in Morrowind:
- In Morrowind, the rule on killing people is quite simple. You are allowed to kill people but you aren't allowed to attack anyone. At least not if they don't attack you first. That means that, as long as you get the other character to attack you without breaking the law first, you are free to brutally murder them as you like.
One way to do just that was speechcraft. When talking to people in Morrowind, besides the options you have in Skyrim you also had an option that basically allowed you to insult the NPC. If you were good at Speechcraft you were able to make NPCs dislike you that way and even anger them enough for them to attack you.
Insulting someone however wasn't against the law, so you were basically tricking them into attacking you first so that you could kill them without breaking the law.
While Morrowind doesn't have an alignment system, doing something like that would have been without any doubt evil but since you aren't acting against the law and are in fact suporting the law (kind of) while using the law for your own gain, I'd say that this is a PERFECT example of a Lawful Evil action. You follow the rules and use them, disregarding moral, to your own advantage.
