anyway, just saw pacific rim. i can see why you all kept saying megarchomp looks like a kaiju. megaggron looks like the movie's beast style quite a bit too.

Maybe because it was the first Dragon type? Or the first Pseudo Legendary? It's actually a pretty neat mon but yeah, I'm not a huge fan myself.

And I realize that that's the reason WHY they have two forms, but I'm not happy about it.

Plus, both Mewtwo forms suck. I mean, X sucks a little less but they are still both an insult to the perfection that Mewtwo used to embody.

i never really liked mewtwo
it just feels like a generic alien-y thing to me. also i think megamewX is FAR worse than megamewY mewtwo's a fairly smooth, flowing kinda pokemon, Y furthers that. X, on the other hand...

think of it as if dragonite's mega-form was essentially an orange druddigon, or vice versa. the designs don't work.

In other news - I still can't believe gen 6's breeding mechanics? My gods they're chaotic but WOW I'm going to have to look down my nose t the 3 IV'd peasants now.

At the Battle Chateau, you get to become a member of the nobility, and your rank goes up as you defeat opponents. You start as a Baron, and apparently Marquis is one of the ranks you can achieve (I haven't done anything apart from step inside, so I don't know much). And Hawlucha is a luchador bird in Poké-France. No we don't get it either. Its only notable qualities are its unique type combination (Fighting/Flying) and its signature move Flying Press (acts as a Fighting and Flying move simultaneously).

So it IS that weird mexican wrestler thing.

One of the many stupid things in this gen.

And the nobility thing sounds kind of weird, too.

No, Hawlucha is cool, i just thought it would have something to do with Quetzalcoatl. And when I learned that he doesn't, I was sad.

also, i don't see how the nobility thing is weird. it's to mark that you're a better battler than someone else.

Also, I've only now realized what the pokedex symbol means
blue-white-red is the french flag + the white symbolises the Eiffel Luminose tower

Hawlucha isn't cool, it's weird and it fits none of the themes of this gen, which is why it's completly stupid.

In fact, barely any of the mons fit the "France" theme, they could have done WAY more with that.

Also, it's only weird because you get ranks named after nobility. Ranks are fine but why are you a noble because you're a good Pokemon trainer? That's not how nobility works!

I've gotta agree with OJ on Hawlucha. It's still the only Pokemon that I can't quite help scoffing at (that coming-out-of-Pokeball animation is WEIRD).

Nobility is one of Kalos's things. The king has repeatedly come up in backstory, and you even visit Poké-Versailles. And there's actually some truth in why being a good Pokémon trainer would make you noble: all the way back at the dawn of civilization, the strongest people would have more power than others, so it stands to reason that when worth is based off of Pokémon battles, being a good trainer would make you nobility. And royalty could appoint new nobles if they wanted to, so it wasn't exclusively based on who your parents were even in the heyday of feudal Europe. But yeah, Hawlucha really should have been saved for a different generation. I think the only people you'll find defending Game Freak's decision there work for Game Freak.
