Yeah, sometimes I just want precision for which Pokémon I'm training up.

Well it's definitely useful if you put a level 50 and five level 5s in your party. But then the xp would be divided six ways, right? That's dumb.

Nah I think it's 100% exp, then 50 50 50 50 50. So you've multiplied your total exp gained by 3.5. It might seem broken but all it really means is game freak is trying to make people quit using solo-runs and have full teams instead (which honestly is pretty rare. It's usually starter, starter's best friend, iffy Pokemon, HM slaves in terms of level distribution). Because we all know trying to train a team of 6 equally in game is a fools errand unless you like grinding, there simply isn't enough EXP to go around.

The flip side is, to make full teams necessary, the difficulty (for solo runs) will likely increase substantially. YESSSS

Also... OJ what did I tell you about things you never have to explicitly post :B

But why would they want people to stop doing solo runs? All it means is that that person has chosen to take on a self-imposed challenge (or they have no idea what they're doing, but that's a different discussion entirely). They're not hacking or exploiting glitches, and it only affects them, since the point is merely to play through the story with a single Pokémon (plus necessary HM slaves).

They really ought to have both Exp. Share and Exp. All as separate items.

Like I said when we found out that gen 5 was changing up the xp distro system, I don't understand why people don't just play through the game with a full party of equally-leveled mons when they're doing vanilla runs. it makes it easier. Really, it does.

Yeah, I don't mind if they have both the Exp. Share and Exp. All (as long as we have the option of not using the Exp. All once we've found it). And I know some people do solo runs for the same reason that people do Nuzlocke runs: an added challenge. I prefer having a full team, but I realize that some people want to try something else, and I'm not going to force them to play the way I think is best (apart from no cheating/hacking/exploits/etc., but that goes without saying).

Top tip muffinz: the answer to ANY question leading with "am I the only one who..." or "does anyone else think..." Is always, always always yes. Always.

Always always.

And I like version exclusives Sad except awkward legendary ones. Reshiram not so much because they're cheap, but things like Tornadus are hard to get. I felt Sawk and Throw and the Basculin formes were kind of a rip off... I obviously spent more time catching the rarer one than I did the common one, because there's no point catching common ones Sad it was a waste. Maybe if they had 1% likelihood or something I'd be interested.

I don't really count a solo run as a vanilla run. It's more like French Vanilla. I mean just straight up playing through the game.

Add-on:

I haven't needed a full team since after my first Pearl run. The game is too easy otherwise. White was fun since switching between Darmanitan, Samurott and Lilligant kept me on my toes - Drayden's gym was predictably difficult. But it bothered me that half of my team was going to Pokémon I didn't use (but still kept around. Training them for the sake of it would have had no benefit and slowed me down).

Also obligatory ' you don't have to use it'

Or

'You could just empty your party of other pokemon, thereby trading one inconvenience for another one, the balance of kneejerkyness is thusly maintained'

I just like having as much coverage as possible in my team. 6 pokemon, 24 moves; I really ought to be able to hit supereffective against everything. Except Sableye and Spiritomb.

Personally I think Pokemon was more fun without a super balanced team because I don't have to think so hard about coverage.

And also very little grinding.

So in Sapphire I enjoyed the Gym runs immensely but was kind of embarrassed about my team at the end, but in Black 2 it was the opposite.

Yeah, what happened with this thread? The email notification sent me to a page that claimed that "No posts exist for this topic". And HP, you do know Spiritomb and Sableye have a weakness now, right?

Jello split the thread.

And yes I know that they now have a weakness. Or that they will once X and Y are released. Currently, though, they don't. I'm going by the fact that in the most recently released video game, they have no weaknesses.

Or we're doing a fifty page cap on threads, despite the fact that we only have twenty posts per page?

I'd like to point out that I always play with a full team, though some of my mons might be better trained then others.

In Black my team is perfectly balanced except for my starter, who I'm trying to get to level 100 (though I don't play that often, so that's the reason why she hasn't reached level 100 yet)

It should be real. I got that image off the official Facebook page. Last I checked, the official site hadn't been updated with the new information, though.

Damn it Gen 6, how do you manage to lower my expectations so much and then STILL manage to disapoint me?

Haven't seen it yet, but I've heard the description. I imagine it'll look pretty cool once animated because the different parts will do different things, if you get me.

More detailed spoiler:
Is it an older evolution, or a new one?

Yeah, and it's especially dumb because you're essentially making three Magnemites/Digletts out of one.

Actually, that would be really cool if the evolution requirement was to have three in your team, and then they all merge into one Pokemon.
