But personally, I'd go for

- fencing geekery names:
"Riposte." It's a counterattack after you've parried a strike.
"Appelle." A fake attack to provoke a reaction, basically.
"Remise." Trying to attack again after you fuck up.
"Epee." Big heavy stabby sword.
"Sabre." Light, quick slashy sword.
"Foil." Balance between the two other ones. Stabby.

Re: The Nickname Suggestion Thread
I was gonna name mine "Picket" because picket fence -> fencing, but when I saw people catching and training Honedges by the millions I decided that Honedge was too mainstream for me. I still think that's a really good name for it though.

And that's not evening mentioning legendary swords or edged weapons.
Or legendary ghosts I suppose.
See? So many possibilities.

all of the above are mythical french swords. Hauteclere is also a name but I'm using that for my Aegislash already.

Re: The Nickname Suggestion Thread
are you serious? try the obvious choice
SORD..... ...
add however many periods fill up the max character length and throw a space in for good measure and you should be good
can't believe i made the obvious mistake of naming my honedge caledfwlch when there are much better options out there

mine's name is almost exactly that. "SORD........................", with all spaces filled by the ellipses character.Gelatino wrote:are you serious? try the obvious choice

I'm pretty sure I already said what I'd name a Honedge? But in case I didn't it's "Picket". It's a cute word and it comes from picket fence, as in fencing.

I plan to catch my own Honeedge soon and I need help deciding for a name.
What would be best, Gram, Nothung or Balmung?

Re: The Nickname Suggestion Thread
I'd say Nothung, personally. Didn't you say that the German name for Honedge was Gramokles? It already incorporates Gram into it. People would think you're lazy. >.>

Re: The Nickname Suggestion Thread
In case you are unaware, all three of those are the name of Siegfrieds sword, only from different sources.
Gram is the sword of Sigurd (Siegfried) in the nordic/germanic mythology, Wagner calls Siegfrieds sword Nothung and in the Nibelungenlied it's called Balmung (it also has a different backstory there, I believe)
I think I will indeed go with Nothung, thank you for helping me decide.

I didn't know it was all the same sword. I knew that Gram was Siegfried's sword, though.

As most of you probably know, mine is ballestra, which is an obscure fencing term that means a short hop and then a really quick attack

My vote is for iT's. I love that kind of nickname.
My Klefki is Fadiese, a concatenation of Fa Diese, or the key of F Sharp in music terms. Klefki looks like an F okay

Except the filter won't let you name it that. Literally everyone on the internet has already tried this.
