Re: General chat: Who needs mspaf anyway
well
once i finish high school im planning on moving to the us and doing college there and shit, and if everything went well nelly and i would live relatively close to each other then, so... :O
also my parents were surprisingly positive about nelly in general when they discovered about her an actually like, WANTED me to date her so, even though they dont know about it yet... yeah
both of us kinda doubt hers would/will be as receptive though
and 'ey we were both still bestest friends ever and just about the most important persons in eachothers lives even before this dating thing started so

Re: General chat: Who needs mspaf anyway
*le sigh*
I was afraid this would happen.
Oh well.
[SHIPPING INTENSIFIES]
Back to srs bsns though: It's nice that you two are already so close and stuff. That's pretty great. But also, you're both young! You probably don't even know what you want to DO with the rest of your lives! And circumstances change and things and people change too and the *econony can change and I think if you're going to be thinking about the future, then the best thing you can do is act in the present. Work on your grades, maybe. Math gets you a long way if you can handle it early-on. Or look into programming? It's a highly versatile (and very mobile!) field and you can start it at a redonkulously early age. And there's nothing wrong with a trade, if that's what you're into, but it all starts with how you handle your life currently! I don't know a whole lot of 14/15 year olds as emotionally mature (or with such excellent grammar, where applicable) as you guys appear to be. (And iT too.) So I'm sure you can do well in school if you really wanted to.
And then, excepting medical/financial/political things, the world is your oyster. And, fortunately for you, said world contains Universities in Florida.

srsly though I cannot recommend programming enough, or at least trying it, so many people don't because they don't know it's a thing and it has THE BEST career options. It's like math without the math! And not even in an algebra sort of way! It's all logic puzzles and stuff. I did pretty well in school, As and Bs when I could be bothered, Cs in things I didn't care about because I wouldn't apply myself, Ds in languages outside of English because, well, everyone has a weakness. But I never flourished because I never felt any of my subjects were really well suited to me, which was a shame because I'm pretty sharp. (Humility is just boasting by stealth!) And now, looking back, I don't regret dossing work in school because what I'm doing now has nothing to do with anything I did then, but I DO regret not knowing about computer science so I could start it earlier. Seriously. It's my biggest "if I could go back in time..." thing.
Also it ties into animation quite a bit. Flash/Scratch and all of that, the maths for animation physics, Pixar and 3D-movies and the like are all coded and not just designed and flipped through like an old fashioned cell animation.

Re: General chat: Who needs mspaf anyway
okay
so
........
i dated a girl i met online once.
we dated for about 3 years.
it was in college.
i proposed because "love"
she lived in PA; i lived in NC.
and so, with the help of a national exchange student service run by a bunch of universities (it's like international except only within the US), i signed on for a semester at a snowy little college in the middle of the Pocono mountains, about 20 minutes' drive away from where she lived.
she dumped me as soon as i got moved into my assigned dorm.
that was three years ago.
she now has 2 kids.
i have 2 jobs and am working on having 2 degrees
so, the lesson(s) is(are): long distance relationships are very different than face-to-face ones. also, you never know what's going to happen. especially when you're young and overflowing with hormones like all teenagers are. it's okay to make plans, but it's best to take things as they come and not make huge future obligations that may or may not even come to fruition.

Re: General chat: Who needs mspaf anyway
Wowee. Tough luck Hanky But, to insert aphorisms, it is better to have loved and lost than something something, you know I've never heard anybody actually finish saying that one? Really though, at least you've got that experience. Now you know better than anybody.
Also a quick google search on the topic of online dating brings up a lot of "Men are typically more invested and committed to online relationships, women less so." Now THERE'S a new age stereotype for you. Weird.
(but I'm sure things will be fine)
(also I can ship you with iT if I want )

it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.
on an unrelated note, who here would be interested in playing TERA Online? I'm starting to get a small group together to play probably about once a week or so. It's f2p and most of the pay items are cosmetics only. There are a few bonuses you get for paying, like extra character slots and bank pages, but other than that... f2pers are perfectly fine.

Re: General chat: Who needs mspaf anyway
I have not got the internet speeds, or the time Sundays are about the only day I have to do fun things and even then it's got work splattered through it. And anyway I'm supposed to be learning to drive as soon as I *do* get free time...
Plus my degree's sister course is a Games Design course and most of my friends are doing it, I think I'd insult them if I started playing games without them. Thanks, though.

Re: General chat: Who needs mspaf anyway
Honestly, if they are so much about Beauty and stuff, they'd DEFINITLY should have had a Milotic. I mean, it's pretty much the embodyment of beauty among Pokemons.
And it's totally elegant, too.
And honestly, when it comes to stylish fire pokemons you pretty much CAN'T avoid Arcanine, can you? And maybe Ninetals, too.
So many wasted opportunities
EDIT: Huh, I thought Ninetales was called Ninetails...
Anyways, Arcanine is totally majestic and Ninetales is very elegant, they'd be great for a fire based villain team based on style. Though maybe they didn't want to give the person who picked the grass starter too much trouble or make it too easy for the one with the water starter or something?

Re: General chat: Who needs mspaf anyway
I don't think I've ever fallen in love, at least not that I'd know?
Some people who know me kept telling me that I loved that one girl but I only liked her a lot and thought she was beautiful and great to talk to and very fun.
Or in other words, love is confusing and I don't understand it

Ehh, I'd like to play but also don't really have the Internet for it. Or free time. (I'm barely scraping enough time together to play League over weekends...)
Have fun though!
