i'm fine with it being like this though because it reminds me of the days before the internet was so ubiquitous. like when GSC was new and people still brewed their own MTG decks because netdecking and online sales weren't things.

If being used properly,
The point that you send in your psychic type is right after it's already KO'd one or your Pokemon. At BEST it can be revenge killed and it still has access to Substitute and Priority.
It is NOT an impressive sweeper.

And there are more people complaining about MKanga than there are MGengar. Probably down to its awesome coverage, ease of setting up and crazy bulk. Also Priority. Anything Steel you switch in to take Return or something will be mauled by PuP. Ghosts likewise by Crunch or Sucker Punch, depending on the move selection. Best case scenario is a quick status user IMO.  It has very few counters. Has more checks but often only after it's already KO'd something.

As for the other two, I don't thing Aegislash is Ubers-strong but that's never been the qualifier. Currently, what it IS is fun to use, fun to play against and prepare for, very reliable, varied and also more centralising than the weather wars. THAT's what would make it go Uber. (Ubers is a banlist, not a gauge of power.) But people like it so I can't see it happening.
Lucario is just a great example of Power Creep, good thing it's so frail. It'll get better after bank though - Ice Punch gives better SE coverage and removes some of its counters to boot. After we lose some of the more obvious guys it might end up being pretty centralising.
...on the one hand, I want Bank so we can use older Pokemon and tutor moves. On the other hand, I like how this meta is relatively legend-free... Ugggh Landorus/Celebi/Terrakion/Heatran cores again Blehhh

MGengar's one real counter is MGardevoir, which can take one of its hits and oneshot it in return.

A counter is something that can switch into a Pokemon and KO it or force t out at any time. Since MGengar has Shadow Tag, you can't switch into it. Even without that, MGardevior is a shaky check to Gengar, since it's outspend and 2HKOed so cannot switch in. It also lacks recovery, so Gengar can just switch out and come back in later.

I found someone who had an old Black game and allowed me to trade some of his event legendaries back and forth, so that I could have them in my dex

When I noticed he only had a (japanese or chinese or something) Zoroark and no Zorua I asked if it was okay for me to go and quickly get an egg from it. I got the egg pretty quickly and put it in the box for a bit, finishing some trades.

I later hatched the Zorua.

the zoroark was actually a different pokemon and so you got something else when you hatched? and said hatchling turned out to have been corrupted by the pokedevil and swore vengeance against the world and then destroyed everything? but before it did it saved you for last so you could witness all the horrors that it caused upon the world?

Hungary. Nintendo is simply not very popular here for various reasons (PS is winning). + I live furthest from the capital as possible. I'm sure there are a few pokemon fans in my town as well (because law of large numbers) but I'd never got to meet them.
At least not ones with DSs.
