I dunno, cause if it looks sludgy it's usually poison.

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
Well, for Fairy, most of the theorizing is based on what's in the Fairy Egg Group (yes, Froslass is in that group). It's similar with Dragon, but there's a lot more "it looks vaguely reptilian, so it must be a Dragon" going on. Speaking of which, when are we going to get that definitive list of retconned Fairy-types? I realize we may have to wait until Pokémon Bank is released, but I'm hoping Game Freak will go ahead and give us the list themselves once the games are officially released.

D: I didn't even notice it! Sorry OJ!
- Spoiler:
- I think it'll be fine if Clauncher evolves into something awesome as well, which it probably will. Although if it doesn't I won't be so sure about getting X.

- Response to above discussion:
- We've seen Clauncher's evolution. It got posted in this thread a little while back. I think its name was Clawitzer, and it had Mega Launcher as its ability.

- Addition to what cA said:
- It's pure Water type and it's ability, at least as far as we currently know, is actually a pretty shitty one. So yeah, right now it's DEFINITELY outclassed by Skrelps evolution
Since apparently so many missed it:

- Spoiler:
- Oh wow, I forgot. It looked like a really cool concept at the time, but it was horribly outclassed by Skrelp's evo.

Hey OJ. Don't worry about it. Apparently the pokemon you've pegged outclassed has every chance of being pretty strong. something to do with how its ability works I think combined with its typing and stat spread. Whereas the other one has some rather meh stats.

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
- Sylveon:
Using the Eeveelution template:
HP: 95 (could have 65/110, but would need max/min investment)
Atk: 60/65
Def: 60/65
SAtk: 95/110 (95 is more likely, but probably already taken by HP)
SDef: 130 (could be 110, but no other stat can take the 130 slot)
Speed: 60/65
So probably looking at:
95/60/65/110/130/60 or
110/60/65/95/130/60
The problem is that HP and SAtk both have a very small chance of being 110 instead of 95 from that stat spread, and only one of them can take that slot. The 60s and 65 in the stats are basically interchangeable.

I'm pretty sure we don't know how it's ability works yet and if it works like I (And others) think it does then it's a pretty weak ability.d_what wrote:Hey OJ. Don't worry about it. So I think I've got my desired team figured out. It's in spoilers because there are leaked Pokémon in there.
- Probable team:
- Greninja, Venusaur, Blaziken, Malamar, Noivern, Aegislash

- new move:
Okay, the effect's neat and all, but that flavor text is just... what? How does that even work???
But, notice that it says it "adds" a Ghost-type onto the foe. So, unlike Soak, which changes things into pure Water-types, it will presumably leave their first type intact. That'll be interesting.

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
Not a spoiler because boring:
Moonblast, sylveon's move, is a special 95 bp 100 accuracy move that has a 10% chance to lower sp.atk. and here was I worried that fairies would be super strong. >
Meanwhile, the closest fairy TM we have is a special 80 base move with no effects. So presumably Moon Blast gets limited distribution. I hope it does.
(Expln: fairy could very well be the god type unless either a) most fairies are shitty, and this could well be the case, or b) they all get poor moves to make use of it. Waiting on Child's Play or whatever it is before I can make physical judgements. Loool what of Mawile didn't get any physical fairy move > heheheh.)

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
I'm mostly worried about a lot of non-Fairies getting Moonblast, especially Alakazam and other already powerful Psychic types. That would be a good way to make Psychics blatantly OP once again, wouldn't it?

Re: Pokemon news discussion 2: Spoiler Tag Boogaloo
Yeah, Game Freak needs to tread very carefully. Make Fairy-types too weak, and they've failed to counter Dragons like they were supposed to. Make them too powerful, and you've replaced one titan with another. As it is, Mega Evolutions are already redefining the metagame; the last thing we need is for the type chart to remain unbalanced. On that note, even with its new advantage, Poison could still use some assistance in terms of offensive options (Steel too, to some extent, although it's already dangerous defensively).
