It's in heavy beta; a lot of features haven't been added yet, including most of the tags, analysis overviews and search-by-stat/tier - The vastness of white is unsettling though.
Works lovely on a phone, but sure enough the Tag tag doesn't fit on my laptop's browser unless I scroll down or out a bit.

speaking of high IV babies
who wants a venipede
or a gastly
they'll all have 5 IVs.
searching for a MM shiny, i don't bother keeping anything less than 5 IVs.

Hanky, are your Venipede Speed Boost, and is the non 31 in Special Attack? If yes to both, I'd love a Venipede.
And come to think of it a competitive Gengar would also be schweet, throw one my way when you do the Venipede please!
The article I already read a while ago, but it was super interesting for sure.
And yeah Dee, burn is scary. I run mostly physical. The presence of Burn is the primary reason why I basically always have a Heal Bell/Aromatherapy user on my team, and also why I run Fire types a lot too.

Don't be.
Instead, rejoice that in Europe (this means you two previous bozos, I mean posters) the Pokemon Trading Card Game game is available on the eshop for 4.99! I would definitely recommend it to everyone here, it was fun. Deck building was also fun. And first gen had a meta too. Something something Venusaur something Haymaker something something.
Shame they can't/won't implement a multiplayer online mode though. The game itself appreciated having other players nearby; we're in the internet age, dammit, and we deserve to be connected!
(even you OJ)
(sorry lol)
(you have terrible luck r.e. internet)

Guys obviously hold hands has a different effect when used by Mega Minun/Plusle, it's actually OP almost.
No seriously this is a genuine theory from the would-be competitive fandom.

okay so yes to both (the second one is a little more subjective, some of these 5 IV venipedes are varied) and 5 IV gastlies are the same way.
i traded in my wonky purple 3DS for a year of weegee XL that came with M&L Dream Team preinstalled free, so i'm ready to play some mario kart now.
also apparently "let it sit for a year without touching it" was the solution to my fucked up L trigger on my launch system 3DS, because both triggers work just fine now.
so i have 2 fully functional 3ds systems now. yay?
and i found a shiny shuppet in a friend safari last night, yay~

Yaaaaaaay for you on all counts! I wish I had two 3DSs.
Although if we're wishing for things I wish I had better overall stamina, better teeth, a 3-month-old driving licence, the ability to eat food, then maybe some chocolate mint sticks, and 3DSs for my friends because I can't play with anyone locally anymore
Oh yeah and another inch added
Edit: guys I JUST remembered that Zen mode Darmanitan is a thing! Jeez it's forgettable. And sooooo fuggin' useless; whoever designed the stat spread/typing/movepools of the gen 5 starters must've been the same person behind this train wreck. It stinks of ignorance about the game. Even if it went the Aegislash route and got a priority move that changed formes and did something extra, you're still stuck with a Darmanitan that doesn't have Sheer Force and Sheer Force is great. And also coverage. Darmanitan likes its coverage. (And a choice scarf/band actually, so I guess it's all academic anyhow).

Re: General Chat: The Smashening
the main problem with zen darmanitan, i've found, is that you either have to build a shitty non-sheer force darmanitan that is basically slightly harder to kill at <50% hp and can't hit for shit at that point, or you build something that relies on getting hit down to half health before it's even useful. at which point it's shitty and useless because it dies to even more things.
it's a cool concept. shitty implementation. it would have been better if there was a personality value that determined whether darmanitan was a zen mode or regular, and BST distribution based on the form it received. then ALL darmanitans got sheer force.
or maybe not because that sounds like it'd have been more difficult to program.

Re: General Chat: The Smashening
Nah that could be programmed. Custom things like that are doable. I mean, if you want a "Zen" mode, make it fully available and not just after 50% health, because unless you DOUBLE its original speed, having a half health slower Pokemon is not a good idea. And don't forget the swapped attack stats.
If it were me, I'd give it Meditate or something and program a quirk where if Darmanitan uses it, it's BST swaps and all of its attacks become Special ones, like Psyshock. Lower speed but heightened defenses without the loss in health or undue attacking prowess: I'd use that.
Gen 5 is full of shitty implementations. Most of the really good things from gen 5 are only there due to insane BSTs or occasionally broken moves (Quiver dance) or abilities (shadow tag). No balance at all. They probably thought Audino was a good idea :/

Re: General Chat: The Smashening
It's a subpar cleric that is outclassed by a million things, poor BST distribution, poor typing, Ability does not help it that much because of those things, and a semi-decent movepool, most of which there's no point in running, that is still standard fare for Normal type Pokemon. And it's a huge momentum killer, that's a pretty big deal. It has limited use in VGC Doubles, though. Really really limited.
'Course, they introduced it to be a cheap way of getting EXP. But that in itself is a pretty poor fix, isn't it? Designing an entire Pokemon for one game just to fix a vague gameplay problem (training Pokemon)?
Don't get me wrong. Contrary to what a lot of people hear, I think gen 5 released some of the best Pokemon yet: Garbodor and Vanillluxe do not make the majority and aren't even that bad. Even the analogues are superior a lot of the time. But competitively? The person behind the BSTs did not understand the game at all.
Probably the same person who developed Aurorus actually.
Though not the same person who developed Avalugg. THAT actually showed quite a bit of thought.

Yeah, Gen V really wasn't great for the metagame, was it? The only two major positive things I can think of are Hidden Abilities (which admittedly got out of hand because they gave stuff Drought and Drizzle) and restricting Stealth Rock's availability (which got somewhat reversed in B2W2 with the Move Tutor).

Re: General Chat: The Smashening
If we're going solely by design, I love Serperior, Swoobat, Gigalith, and Chandelure. That said, I dislike the competitive playstyle of all of those guys but Swoobat, and he's sort of a one-trick pony.
Competitively, god do I love Bisharp. That's the kind of crazy playstyle I like, mindgames up the wall with Sucker Punch and Iron Head. You can be tricky or just bust your way through everything with brute force, because as you know, bustin' makes me feel good.

Re: General Chat: The Smashening
Oh god so many
Some people complain about design over-complexity, but listen, that's been a thing since gen 3 and has roots since gen 1 (Nidoking, Rhyhorn, Gyarados): "complexity" is actually in the majority nowadays, so it's not really a valid complaint. And in any case, plain Pokémon introduced now don't become as popular as their more complex counterparts (Cincinno, Swanna).
Edit: Ugh I swear every time the MSPA server goes down I get my hopes up and get all, antsy and stuff. With ants.
- Spoiler:
I do actually like Samurott, except, again, BST... Yeesh. And Serperior would appreciate Grass/Dragon or just better moves in general, and Emboar would have been much cooler in, say, gen 11.
I think Herdier is cute, and Patrat and co. would be pretty solid standalone designs if they were more defined battle-wise and weren't in competition with every other regular Normal type. And Stoutland is certainly interesting, in battle as well as design. Liepard and Bird-thing though... Bird thing can suck it. It's absolutely terrible. Talonflame, Staraptor, Swellow, they all tried to be unique and make an impression. Gendered form changes is not an impression when you're useless. I think any ONE of the monkeys would be great, but three is repetitive and lame. (Cough cough Landorus and co.) There's just not enough to distinguish them as being good either in design or in practice. In fact in practice they're DIRE. Musharna? Total analogue, but a cool one, usable, and a great throwback reference. Approved! Zebstrika, also an analogue, but a cool elemental horse all the same. It makes so much sense. Gigalith: arguably better than Golem. Swoobat: another analogue, the heart thing was kind of cute I guess. Not a brilliant Pokemon perhaps, but a solid pass. Excadrill: Sandslash and Dugtrio cry. Totally incredible. Crazy stats though. Conkeldurr: again with the stats, but also ability and movepool: a Machamp analogue, but a good one, if perhaps too much so. Seismitoad is... Alright I guess? Tympole's pretty great. Throh and Sawk aren't really worth mentioning. I don't mind dedicated analogues but they're actually less interesting than the originals. Leavanny's a nice take on the typical early game bug, and Scolipede is likewise; it's also FRIGGIN AWESOME. Whimsicott's cool. Lilligant has a great design but lacks the moves to show it off. More analogues but really good ones. Carvanha: formes haven't been new since gen 2; a shoddy attempt. We all know it only exists because GF forgot to make enough water-habitat Pokémon. Krookodile is really solid. Likewise Darmanitan. Maractus is... Terrible in practice and in flavour, but fine considered standalone, not really worth getting fussy over. Crustle is a neat analogue and a solid design. A lot of people don't like Scrafty but a lot of people love it and I can understand that. It's thematically appropriate and is decent in practice. Sigilyph LOOKS weird, but who says Pokémon can't be weird? Nazca lines are a neat idea! "Running out of ideas" my ass. Also decent competitively. Cofagrigus is crazy cool. Caracosta and Archeops have really solid, unique designs and are only let down by their details in stats/abilities. Garbodor. Zoroark is good, Cincinno is surprisingly good, if a bit plain (but better than Wigglytuff), Gothitelle is funny, decent, odd but not bad. I personally love Reuniclus and honestly it could fit right in with the gen 1 Pokémon. More so than Alakazam, even. Swanna is.. Okay I don't personally like Swanna. Does anyone like Swanna? It's SO plain and SO true to reality. Yes it totally fits in with gen 1, is it better for that? I don't think so. Vanilluxe. Sawsbuck is great and a superior analogue. Emolga is maybe the best Pika clone??? Escavalier and Accelgor are good all-round. Amoongus is both extremely viable and a million times better than Electrode. Jellicent is funny and a unique design. Alomomola... Usable, but I can't really forgive the design. It's too trolly. Galvantula is awesome and about as "realistic" as Ariados, Ferrothorn is... Weird looking, perhaps not in a great way, and in an obvious Forretress way, but it's incredible in practice. Klinklang is... No worse than Magneton and you know, a gear Pokémon was inevitable really. Eelektross is ugly but I love it. You know, some people genuinely believe that if a Pokemon is ugly that means a poor design? Insanity. It has a great design and levitate is cool. Beeheeyem is a nice concept and design but fails to stand out in battle - shame. A lot of people hate Chandelure for being "another object" but a much, much larger amount of people adore it for a whole bunch of reasons. Too many to name really, it's a great Pokemon. Haxorus is fine, Beartic is weird, but a Polar Bear was another "expected" design; they didn't really push themselves though. On the other hand, Cubchoo is brilliant. Cryogonal is weird but only about as much as Porygon or Bronzing; I think it's great that it exists. Stunfisk is gen V's obligatory 'wat' Pokémon. Any complaints about it are redundant. Mienshao is cool, Druddigon is... Okay it isn't, but I suppose Game Freak may have thought that the lower tiers needed more dragons besides Altaria. Golurk is actually pretty badass, Bisharp likewise, Bouffalant is more interesting than Tauros (well, it is) Braviary and Mandibuzz are solid designs, Heatmor and Durant are no worse than Zangoose/Seviper really, Hydreigon and Volcarona are unanimously fantastic, and the legends are fine (there's just too many of them in one go).
