I feel like you can at least explain that leak safely: purported art of the starters' final forms includes an NPC we just saw in the trailer, indicating it's probably accurate.

- I kind of hope the starters do get two final evolution options, since these are kind of... eh. Rowlet's is decent but not great, and the other two are pretty bad. And the leak I saw may not be entirely accurate, since the only Alolan form it listed that's been confirmed is Ninetales, which it claimed would be Fire/Fairy, not Ice/Fairy. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the official info reveals.

Yeah, glad to see others enjoy this, but for me it might actually ruin the game enough to make me not buy it, so, yeah...
I guess the best way I can describe my feelings for Sun and Moon at the moment is similar to how I felt about Teen Titans Go in the beginning. I don't mind if others enjoy it, but I don't think I will enjoy it. If it wasn't connected to something I care about and enjoyed in the past, I'd just ignore it, but since it is it's actually kind of upsetting me, since it feels like an insult...

Thinking about it a little more, I think my main issue is that Pokemons target audience and me seem to drift apart, perhaps in part because I am changing but definitely also because the game is changing, and those changes emphasise things I either don't care about or activly dislike, while deemphasising the things I DO care about.

- The alola forms have potential (though I hate the Exeggutor and I am fairly indifferent about the other two, though some of the supposed leaked ones sound good).
Trumpmon looks aweful, dancing bird is fine I guess, "Not a Bug type" Mantis upsets me, becaus I really like its look but it really should have been part bug, though I suppose that'd be stepping on Levannis turf, Flying Rock is stupid, mini ass looks like ass (though at least it has a neat evolution I guess)
I am too suspicious about riding pokemons, they tricked us once, I don't trust them
Changing the gym system might be exciting, but untill I know more I can't actually judge if the new system is better.
Z-Moves are the dumbest thing Pokemon has ever done in my opinion.

OJ, buddy. Not to put too fine a point on this, if MSPAForums still existed we could probably dig up a cache of old quotes...
But you say this every time any remotely new feature is announced, as far back as *at least* BW! After a while you gotta start to wonder if maybe you just don't like change :V

Not quite, there are some types of change I welcome, like positive additions and progress.
For example, I greatly enjoyed it when they added contests in the third gen.
But yeah, I am not a huge fan of change in general, this is certainly true, and when the change is changing something I like into something I don't like, it is no surprise I dislike it. Also, I am very critical of things I enjoy and/or care about, it's part of how I express my caring. For example, I don't know what kinds of flaws newer counterstrikes might have compared to older ones, because that's not something I care about. But I could write you a long list with my thoughts comparing all changes between Morrowind and Skyrim, including which things changed for the better, which ones for the worse and which ones I didn't really care about at all.

It's Coro Coro time, and once again we've got new info.

- First up, there's a two-stage evolution line of Ground/Ghost sandcastles. We've also got a preevolution of Bewear, also a Normal/Fighting type. Next up is a Water-type fish that can switch between a solitary form and a larger school form somehow. There's also confirmation of Alolan Meowth and Marowak; Meowth becomes Dark after generations of breeding by the Alolan royal family, while Marowak became Fire/Ghost in response to predators. Coro Coro promises that the next issue will contain a poster featuring Rockruff's "secret evolution", whatever that means. Finally, we've got the first details of the evil team: their Japanese name is Team Skull, and we've got two confirmed members, the leader and a named female character with an unspecified role. I guess they realized how obvious Lysandre's identity was in XY.

Normally I wouldn't double-post, but it's been a full day, and we've got a new official trailer. Some of the info overlaps with Coro Coro, but there's some new stuff and stuff it doesn't cover.
- Spoiler:
- First up, we've got the name of the new fish, Wishiwashi. If it's a high enough level, its Schooling ability will let it take the larger, more powerful form in battle until its health drops too low, although there's no indication of what level is high enough. Next up, we have something from Coro Coro that Serebii had missed when I wrote my earlier post: Pyukumuku (yes that's localized, the Japanese name is completely different) the Water-type sea cucumber. Much like a real sea cucumber, it can vomit up its innards in self-defense with its Innards Out ability, dealing damage proportional to the amount of health it had remaining when it faints; I personally think this is a fantastic concept, albeit a surprising one for GameFreak and Nintendo. The final new species wasn't in Coro Coro: the fungal Grass/Fairy Morelull. It comes with either Illuminate or Effect Spore. For Alolan forms, we've got Alolan Meowth and Marowak, with a couple more details. Alolan Meowth can have Pickup or Technician, while Alolan Marowak gets Cursed Body and Lightning Rod. There's also a surprise third Alolan form: Raichu. It becomes Electric/Psychic and gets the new Surge Surfer ability, boosting its speed while Electric Terrain is active.
We've also got details about Team Skull. Judging by the hip-hop music playing during their scenes, they're probably based off the current gangster culture in America as much as pirates. The leader's name is Guzma (unchanged from Japanese), and he's got a grudge after failing to be made a Captain for the Island Challenge. The female member from Coro Coro is Plumeria, admin and self-professed big sister to the rest of the team. Interestingly enough, we see Team Skull members use different kinds of Poké Balls, not just the base model, which is a neat touch.

- First up, English reveals for the rest of the Pokémon from the Coro Coro leak. The sand castles are named Sandygast and Palossand, and they both come with the new Water Compaction ability, raising their Defense by two stages whenever they get hit with a Water attack. Bewear's pre-evolution has been localized as Stufful, and like Bewear, it can have Klutz or Fluffy. Finally, we've got the brand-new Crabrawler, a Fighting-type crustacean that can have either Hyper Cutter or Iron Fist.

Throwback I know, but I'm bored and the Wormverse doesn't stop from being interesting. For the sake of having something out there in the ether, these'd be my preliminary votes on the *current* powersets; any additional ones we get (if we get any) could happily change them.

Corny as it is to vote for my own, I do have a 66% stake currently so the odds were always at that point :V Nah tbh I like ICON a lot as a power, I just can't see it meshing with any team I'd work with (regardless of my own power) and I wanna be SUPERTEAMFREINDSTEAM GO ACTIVATE with Spark. There's also a lot of Mystique parallels, if not outright better, sans the lack of martial arts skills. Better for espionage, therefore separate entity, therefore less likely to be on a team.
Imma go VISHNU because I think there's a lot of opportunity for visual gags. (thinking Amethyst here :O) And aesthetically I like the idea of a classic superhero limited to athleticism and martial arts skills... with the addition of as many extra limbs as you can feasibly fit in there.
Octi: Only two powers ;_; I love FATA MORGANA though. Again, visual gags, only less gag and more "can turn into Godzilla within range of an enemy, also can turn into the floor, or be invisible, or just inflict psychedelic confusion..." It's thematically coherent and really creative. Definitely going for this one. Gonna need some inherent flaws to make it a fair power, mostly limited to the strength or speed of the changed thing (i.e. changing into a steel cube makes you tougher, but not as tough as an actual steel cube, nor magnetic.)
Sandstriker: I can't decide
At all. I am literally and totally undecided. Don't even have a least favourite. I kinda want to see all of them realised, but if Sandstriker gets any of them and the other two are fictional NPCs that's cool.
Captain: Gotta go ClLOCKWORK MAN I just really like bioaugmentations and the time thing is a flexible gimmick. I'd like to have a powerset like that on my team. Plus, I kinda want to see where Captain takes it, especially Name, Role and general style/focus...

The Nintendo Direct did in fact contain S&M news, albeit not much. We do have confirmation that the next batch of news should arrive on the 6th, though.

- First up, Alolan Rattata. It's become a Dark/Normal type with either Gluttony or Hustle. Next, there's a little more information on Z-moves. Apparently certain Pokémon get their own unique Z-moves, such as Alolan Raichu; it seems to be linked to special held items, because there's going to be an event for a special Munchlax that comes with one for Snorlax. Side note: Snorlax is terrifying when it actually bothers to put in effort.

Steaming hot new trailer, come and get it!

- First up, our new Pokémon. We've got the odd-looking but kind of cute Jangmo-o, a small Dragon-type with Bulletproof and Soundproof. Next is the confusingly-named Type: Null, a Normal-type with Battle Armor that's a genetically-engineered chimera; apparently it was designed to have strength comparable to a legendary in order to complete a mysterious mission. The Japanese trailer also shows a glimpse of a probable evolution for Cutiefly.
Next up, Alolan forms and... other stuff. Alolan Raticate gets super fat cheeks and keeps Alolan Rattata's Dark/Normal type combination, as well as Gluttony and Hustle. They've also introduced the mysterious Ultra Beasts; we don't know what they are, or even if they count as Pokémon. All we have is the name and Sugimori art for one of them: UB-01, which kind of looks like a jellyfish.
Next up, NPCs. Team Skull gets an Enforcer, Gladion; he apparently uses Type: Null, but we don't know anything else about him. We've also got an apparently-good organization, the Aether Foundation, which runs a floating Pokémon haven called the Aether Paradise. Led by new NPC Lusamine with branch chiefs Faba and Wicke, they try to protect Pokémon from Team Skull.
Finally, some new mechanics. Pokémon Snap has been integrated with the main series with Poké Finder, a new feature that lets you take photos of wild Pokémon and share them online; the internet's going to explode over this one. We've also learned that the two versions have a 12-hour time difference, and certain events vary depending on time of day; the example we got is that Alolan Raticate replaces Gumshoos as a Totem Pokémon at night. Finally, Zygarde has been turned into a collection sidequest: Dexio and Sina give you an item called the Zygarde cube, which lets you hunt down Zygarde Cores and Cells across the region.
