Ballstuck: A Pokémon SBURB RP

Not really, I mean, how do we even want to DO this RP?

I'd assume we'd do it in the normal way people do RPs over forums.
In-character pesterchum accounts could help with pesterlogs, though.

Or we could commandeer the Chatbox momentarily. I bet not many people have Pesterchum installed.

i am going to be a sylph now.
pffff, a poison-type sylph, this will be amazing.
though i am still very undecided as to what pokemon i want to be. mawile would be fun because i will just bite everything. seviper wold be fun too, but snakes are a little...limited in mobility.
and then there's spearow, simply for the sake of being able to fly. druddigon fits my personality just as well as nidorina, though i think that's stepping into OP territory.
farfetch'd, larion, blitzle, krokorok, fraxure...

i love too many pokemon help.

I don't think super-strict movesets should be necessary unless someone else REALLY wants to use them.
And I have no problem with a Gengar.

Do we want to do the PMD world? If yes, are any of us "humans who were tunred into Pokemon"?

How will combat be handled? How will player interaction?

Do we have GMs? IF yes, who? What exactly will their roles be in this RP?

Are there any rules?

Let's answer these questions first before we start doing anything else.

Agreed. I'll leave sournote to answer these, but I'll say now I think it would be dumb if any of us were "humans who were turned into Pokemon".

My respective responses:

Yes to PMD world, no former humans.
Combat should just be done descriptively or with a little illustration if people are feeling ambitious. If we want to use RPG rules, we'd obviously use the combat for that.
No GMs should be necessary unless we decide to use RPG rules.
I don't think rules are strictly necessary unless people want them.

If anyone disagrees with these appraisals, they can mention that. I am flexible.

I think that is Rule 0 of all RPs that don't use RPG mechanics.

Do we all have to have different classes and aspects?

If so, maybe there should be a running list of what's taken so I know what my choices are.

i'm space unless someone else wants it, and i think someone wanted knight of space? not sure, but i'm mind if so.
i'm don't care which i end up with, just whichever nobody else takes.

I kind of had my heart set on prince of space but I don't mind just using whatever classpects are left once everybody else has chosen

That is, if we even have to choose a unique class/aspect? Seems like kind of a weird rule to me. I don't see why people can't have the same classes or aspects.

IDE: you can but unique classpects are one of the hallmarks of a successful session, perhaps if a game plays with doubles it is a symptom of the game going wrong and being doomed to fail.

Actually there's a thing. If there's an overarching plot... Do you win???

It's awkward to me to have two of the same of something. It just doesn't feel right.

Anyways, I've been keeping track of all the claspects people have called. We have:

Mage of Light (muffinz)
Rogue of Rage (Sournote)
Sylph of Space/Mind (that's NN)
Heir of Time (SS)
Page of Life (phanDex)
Prince of Doom (OJ)
Knight of Void (AH)
Seer of Heart (me)

I might take NN's Mind aspect and then he'd be Space

Unless NN wants Heart and you take Space, Gelatino?

Also if Gelatino joins that's 9, and if Spark joins, which he probably will, that's 10.

as farfetch'd i'd be a jack of all trades, druddigon would be slow but reliable, spearow would be fast and brutal, etc, etc

Fun Fact 2: Most Heart Players had some trouble with their feelings, Nepeta had her crush on Karkat, Meulin was kind of weird but she might be an exception and I don't think I need to explain Dirk.

NN you don't have to be Heart, it was just a suggestion.

Alright so I got two beefs with this idea so far

The first is that as a Tepig I can already set stuff on fire and I don't know what we'd need alchemy for. Would that make me like Aradia, Sollux, and Eridan, where I have no need to anything but what I already have? I want to alchemize stuff too but I don't know what I'd actually need.

Second, we should change the name of this to something other than Ballstuck, since there are no humans and no Pokeballs.

You don't NEED to alchemize, but if you think about PMD, they DO use... stuff.

You could alchemize stuff, you don't NEED to alchemize weapons

And I agree, the name should be changed. How about PMDstuck?
