Mascot Pokemon
Anyone ever just... make a team and always keep one specific Pokemon in it? Even if they aren't that good competitively? (That doesn't mean that they CAN'T be good competitively, they can.)
You still train them, so don't think I mean under leveled mons.
Think of it like this, you have a team, and that team always has a mascot pokemon. Something to characterize said team, the main star of the show, etc.
Said mascot doesn't have to be your favorite pokemon, it could be coincidental.
I do this quite often actually, my mascot in Black and White is Whimsicott.

Re: Mascot Pokemon
I have two. One that is relatively easy to get hold of, Crobat, and one that is usually wishful thinking, Gallade.

Re: Mascot Pokemon
When I saw how easily obtainable Riolu was in B2, Lucario became my mascot. Unfortunately, its moveset sucked so much that I eventually switched it out for Metagross, so I guess I don't really have a mascot.

My starter. Yeah, I know, they aren't always that great and stuff but damn it, I'll keep them anyways. Please note that they are of course not EV trained or anything, so yeah...

Re: Mascot Pokemon
While I don't usually have a consistent member in my teams, I do have two mons that I've never used in battle but have kept in my most recent save file since early 3rd gen: a Pichu called Nintendo and a Nidorino called Nidopurple (the counterpart to Nidopink the Nidoqueen).
Maybe I should give them a proper moveset and some token EV spread like I do with all my shinies...

Re: Mascot Pokemon
Actually, I've seemingly made a habit recently of NOT keeping my starter. Of course, in Platinum, it was because I replaced Piplup with a far more capable Gastrodon, and in B2 it was because I made the sad choice of choosing Snivy.OverlordJ wrote:My starter. Snivy was so absolutely terrible that I turned it into a Cut slave. A starter, being nothing more than a Cut slave.

Re: Mascot Pokemon
My Venusaur in Blue knew Cut as well...
But yeah, I think my starter would probably be one of the weaker members in my team in Black if it weren't for the fact that she has the highest level by far...

Crobat is one of my mascots. I suppose Chandelure is one as well. It was my first non-rare candied lv100, after all.

Re: Mascot Pokemon
i use flygon whenever possible. so far i've had them on five unique teams, named Snaps, Capp'n, Sassacre, Dragun, and Flygon
Re: Mascot Pokemon
Ever since Sapphire, I always kept an Alakazam around. In White and Black 2, though, that didn't really hold... Hoping to get back to being able to have Alakazam on my team in gen 6.
