"The battle tournament"

is anybody interested in doing a simple elimination-style battle tournament? no rules except no ubers

Would this be on a simulator like Pokemon Showdown or just Wi-Fi?

I'm curious, too. I never played with a simulator before but that's actually something that might work for me

I'd so be in on this if there was more info.

i imagined it being wi-fi since i've never had experience working with a simulator, but if that's what everybody wants then i'm certainly open to the idea

I'd prefer a simulator, since I probably won't have anything close to a decent team on Wi-Fi for a little while, but I don't mind too much. Showdown's really easy to use if we're using a simulator.

Yeah, this. Plus then ideal IVs, EVs, and strats are actually possible and I'm not limited by my crazy schedule.

Also, I assume that a simulator would mean that I might be able to join

showdown left a good first impression on me, if only because i was able to pull off a linoone sweep

I'd be up for it, testing out this team of mine even more would be pretty sweet. I have crafted it rather brilliantly, if I do say so myself and I'm so proud of it

Showdown or Wifi both work for me though I'm still missing one of my Pokemon for Wifi so I'd be able to do a showdown tuorney sooner.

I'll have to pass I don't want to do any heavy battling until I have a team, and I don't want to build a team until I know that my team will remain usable, e.g training a Weavile only to find out that I should've waited because Knock Off is superior on Weavile and is only available in gen 5. So post-bank, possibly post-post-bank.

All I have now is random Pokemon and they're all pretty frail. It's not my playstyle.

Uh the issue with Simulators atm is they aren't really accurate for XY...

i just tried pokemon showdown and it looks okay. from what i've seen, everything in xy is fairly up to date.

if anybody knows how to set up a tournament using showdown then that sounds cool

I think we'd just work out what the matches were in this thread, then use the "/challenge" command to battle each other.

We'd work out what the matches were in this thread, probably with an RNG or something. In the Pokemon Showdown lobby, you can challenge somebody to a battle by typing "/challenge (username goes here)" in the chat. They can accept or decline, so we can battle each other like that.

For 6th gen Pokebank OU, the only Ubers right now are 680+ BST legends, Darkrai, Shaymin-S and Deoxys forms. Can't think of any others. Blaziken currently isn't Ubers. Metagross is emphatically not Ubers.

Sheesh, if we do a really serious fight I'll probably be screwd...
