That's interesting pD, because I was busy killing Professor Plum at the time. So tell us, what were you REALLY doing?

Harrumph! I have no problem admitting I was downing a bit of scotch in the billiards room. There was nobody with me.

drega is referring to the fact that a courtroom-style roleplay happened in another thread once
i'm still a little baffled that they managed to make a video game about, of all things, the legal system

Or that they managed to do it so well. It's like playing an interactive novel, which imo is something that more games should strive for.Gelatino wrote:i'm still a little baffled that they managed to make a video game about, of all things, the legal system

if i want to read a story i'd rather read a bookDregadude wrote:Or that they managed to do it so well. games are supposed to be physically challenging and mentally stimulating
i would rather not play a game where i have to read lots of words, unless the words are optional like in metroid prime
Re: General chat: Who needs mspaf anyway
Be careful Gela. I wouldn't say that a game is supposed to be that and that interactive novels don't count as a game.
Just because you don't enjoy them doesn't mean that they aren't games.

Re: General chat: Who needs mspaf anyway
Okay first of all the Ace Attorney series is really really good and seeing people dismiss it without playing it makes me sad :<
I mean for one thing it is mentally stimulating
It's not just "reading a story but with graphics" or anything like that
So what if it doesn't challenge your reaction time or hand-eye-coordination
You've gotta do just as much thinking as you would in, say, a puzzle game
(whoops i accidentally used commas there and broke my Typing Style Of The Day oh well)

Re: General chat: Who needs mspaf anyway
Yeah, this. The interactivity makes it so if you don't pay attention or come to conclusions on your own, you'll have no idea what to do. This, I think, makes the game even more engaging than playing simple Jump-n-Shoot Man. Besides, as far as plot and character development, if you gave it a try while looking through your hypercritical literary looking glass, I daresay it'll withstand even your scrutiny.muffinz wrote:Okay first of all the Ace Attorney series is really really good and seeing people dismiss it without playing it makes me sad :<

Re: General chat: Who needs mspaf anyway
i just don't really want to get quite that immersed into a game that i have to pay attention to all those details and understand these peopleDregadude wrote:Yeah, this.
