(yes, i yet again forgot I was supposed to stop opening spoilers about the new pokèmon... oh well that's the only gameplay-affecting thing i've spoiled myself on lately so I DON'T CARE hahaha :V )

Vivillon's gimmick is actually pretty interesting. Unlike Spinda, the forms actually feel unique. We're definitely setting up a Vivillon trading ring, aren't we?

^Oh, totally. I'll probably only train one in my first playthrough, of "my" pattern, but it'd be so cool to just have a whole bunch of cool patterns sitting side by side in my box.

Sparkler, all those spoilers just contain MSPA faces, don't they? You just put them there to taunt me >:\

EDIT: The first part was directed at CA. Whoops ninja'd???

That's interesting that the battle HUD has a little icon to denote Mega Evolutions. If the boosted shiny encounter rate is true, then it's odd that Game Freak seems to be diminishing their "importance"; we did just get the Shiny Charm in B2W2, after all. I wonder if this means that egg encounter rates are increased as well (because of the Round Charm)?

don't take me at my word; i don't know for sure that that's a confirmed fact. i DO know that i've been hearing about encountering lots of shinies ever since the demos were released.

Eh, I've never been a huge fan of shinies. Especially since I've had three in my life. Even though this is completely paradoxical, if shinies become more common then that would make them a lot more special, I think.

Apart from fixed shiny encounters, I've only ever found one - a shiny Nidorina in Leaf Green. Sadly, I screwed around too much with an Action Replay and it glitched the game, so I had to wipe the file. This is the single reason I won't mess around with Action Replays or Game Sharks anymore.

pidgey from safari zone[HG]
ratatta from that one route with the miltank farm[HG]
meinfoo from the room in victory road where cheren is.[W]

so, um
does anyone know how the gen5->gen6 transfer works this time around? a friend of mine said you had to pay for it, and i don't recall seeing anything confirmed about it to disprove him. :<

I got a shiny Gigaias Gigalith while EV training once, and I was like "Crap, game, why did it have to be now on this Pokémon of all Pokémon?".

I mean, I like Gigalith and its colour scheme, but it's just sitting in my box unused since I haven't had any use for that Pokémon yet.

Hmm, I wonder what shiny Pyroar looks like now. And if I got a shiny something on X, is there any chance anyone here would trade it for a shiny Liepard from Y?

And on an unrelated note wow,
Spoiler:

You basically transfer Pokémon through the internet, where you can also just leave them in storage. You get a free trial for like a month after you first sign up if I remember right, and after that it's approximately $5 per year to continue your subscription. I would guess (this is only my mostly unfounded guess though!) that if you left Pokémon on it by accident after you stopped using it that your account would just stay there (albeit unable to be interacted with until you started paying again) and they wouldn't delete an inactive account for at least a year or two, since they suggested in one of their interview things it was supposed to be a somewhat long-term storage thing. I could be wrong but it would honestly surprise me if it was a service where they deleted things or closed accounts regularly after advertising it like that.

Hey Spark, just to note: LOADS of people predicted those evos. Because there was a 'leak' of sorts with some newly copyrighted names that so far has not been wrong (though it missed a few, like Venusaur.) I'd probably use MMega only I want to use Absol more, sorry M Sad

Also the Vivillon pattern thing was discovered two days ago, soooo... But MY GOD they're all so pretty!!!! Ireland's temperate but we're also an island nation, so...? Scotland got garden pattern but I'd like to think we get SOMETHING a bit different than Scotland does.
Norway and United Arab Emirates. I didn't even know people played Pokemon in the UAM.
Perhaps they don't Sad

and me getting the game today is basically a coin flip, total luck and a race against closing times. There's four stores I want to check in a single area and my Pokémon club's Facebook page will be updating all day (starting at 5 am, in fact!). Wish me luck guys!

Shinies? I've found two, and caught one.

The one I caught was this:

in Snakewood (spoilers).

The one I didn't catch? Well, you know how Birch gets attacked by a Poochyena at the start of Ruby?
Yeah. That was my first shiny. No pokeballs, scripted encounter. Sad
