Everything you need to know about PMDstuck
My last post exploded due to being "too long" (I kid you not), so I'm making an entirely new thread JUST to contain all the info we need to get the PMD roleplay organised!
Is... is it really that much data?
Oh god.
Anyway...

Is... is it really that much data?
Oh god.
Anyway...
OVERVIEW
- This session is (hopefully) a WINNING SESSION.
- It will use FETCH MODI and GCAT HANDLES.
- It has not been decided whether GUARDIANS must be the exact same species/evo line as their charges, though we were leaning toward that.
- We are currently trying to decide if Denizens' roles will be filled by legendary Pokémon or not, but given that they are already tentatively planned for a later "troll" session it is extremely unlikely.
- Consorts are likely going to be ordinary Sburb consorts, and carapacians are likely going to be ordinary carapacians.
- Legendary Session?:
- Time: Dialga
Space: Palkia
Light: Cressiala
Void: Darkrai
Doom: Yvetal
Life: Xerneas
Breath: Tornadus [therian?]
Blood: Cobalion
Mind: Reshiram
Heart: Zekrom
Hope: Jirachi
Rage: Giratina
POSSIBLE INTERPRETATIONS OF THE TITLES
- Rogue of Rage (Isaac):
- Rogue, Passive, “one that steals their aspect for others.” Our newest Rogue, Roxy, stated that a Rogue was like Robin Hood. This isn’t far from the truth. A Rogue gathers their aspect and presents others/their session with the stolen aspect. Typically Rogues are giving people, and are rarely selfish. Rage is associated with anger, fury, intensity and berserk bouts of power. Emotion is the key factor here, and it plays a large part in what a Hero of Rage can do. Depending on the Class Rage is paired with, a Rage player will either focus on the Rage of themselves, or the Rage of others.
- Seer of Heart (Scoville):
- The Seer of Heart understands their teammates and enemies completely. They can see into the depths of the souls of the people on both sides, knowing their wants, fears, motives, and intents. Successful Seers of Heart can use this knowledge to better themselves as well as act according to those around them- lesser Seers of Heart will become confused and will adapt other people’s personality traits as their own as they are flooded with outside information.Dregadude wrote:The easiest way to think about with a Seer of Heart is that they are kind of the therapist of the group; by understanding the reasons behind emotion and drive, they can pass on their lessons to their friends. This would be fairly useless in a session that has either very little inter-player discord or a lot of reluctance to talk to such a therapist. In essence, a good Seer of Heart would act much like Rose does with her peers, but centering more around matters of feeling than of truth; they would be the trusted friend that everyone feels safe to confide in, because they know that their Seer will be able to help them grow as well. A bad Seer would be powerless in all regards, much like Ma-Ti. Because of this the Seer needs a lot of experience dealing with other people's emotions, and although the journey to becoming a good guide for others would include a lot of bad judgements and misguided advice, eventually they would be able to bring harmony to the group. (Note: I'm not actually sure how much of this overlaps with the Blood aspect, it's possible that I'm misinterpreting the true meaning of Heart.)
Additionally, as we've seen explained to Dirk, Heart powers include direct control of not only others' emotions, but their souls. Although this is more overtly powerful in active classes like that of a Prince, like how Dirk ripped Aranea's soul from her body just a few days ago, in a passive class like that of a Seer, a fully-realized hero would still be able to understand another person's emotions, motivations, and maybe even future plans at a glance. Terezi, as a Seer of Mind, uses knowledge of others' psyches to be able to predict their actions, and a Seer of Heart would probably be gifted with similar precognition, but based off of other players' aspirations instead.
But what does this mean for little old Scoville? As we've seen, he's horrible at reading people, mainly because of his limited experience with them. He was unable to predict that Tyrogue would ftfo over being fired, he treats others as potential customers first and people second, and before he found the courage to confide in Glitch, he had nobody he would consider a friend. To him, other Pokemon exist to give him tasks and reward him accordingly, and his worth is derived solely from his success at his job. This, clearly, is based off of his traumatic upbringing, after which his ability to understand and connect with Pokemon was crippled. How is he ever going to make a good Seer of Heart?
Well, all these handicaps mean that his rise (or fall) will be either incredibly tragic or incredibly heroic. When I first wrote his backstory, I didn't intend for him to be a woobie, nor did I even know that was a trope. I intended for him to have a legitimate reason for starting out the way he did, and to give him challenges to overcome, because in the end, nobody cares about the kid who was perfectly normal until one day he got magical powers over wind or whatever. They care about the person who, given all these stumbling blocks, was able to make it as far as he did. If he succeeds, he does so as a testament to everyone who has had some problem they needed to work through. If he fails, he will still be an interesting character to watch. What I like about the story of the Alternian trolls is that a good half of them, even though they made it out of their game, were still not equal to the challenge presented to them by SBURB, and eventually died. Whether Scoville ends up as a Tavros or a Terezi, I don't know. But I'm certainly excited to find out.
- Sylph of Mind (Pendulum):
- The Sylph of Mind can heal what has been broken when it comes to the mind and sanity. She can help her friends pick up the pieces when things seem to be falling apart, and heal almost any unsavory mental state. She is an invaluable player in any session, especially those dealing with easily mentally compromised species like trolls.
- Heir of Time (Tobias):
- The Heir of Time can protect themselves by travelling through time in order to avoid potential problems. Time also protects them by ensuring that there is no way anyone can trace their trail through time.
- Page of Light (HHO):
- Powerhouse wrote:If he's put into a position of leadership-- a plausible-sounding event, as he tends to inspire clearer thinking in his friends-- he'll start off pretty poorly when it comes to getting shit done. When things go right, it'll be more due his friends' acumen than his own, and he'll be eager to step away from the throne if anyone else offers to take the reins. If he sticks to it, though, each loss will contribute to his growth as a commander and general, and through trial-and-error he will one day become a tactician without peer.
Another route (one that you can combine with the last one, of course) is that the Page is gifted with some kind of unique ability that makes them highly desirable to a number of people. Maybe he's immune to some horrific disease in a plague-ridden setting, or he can blast lasers out of his eyes or something. Either way, he's coveted for his power and has to fend off people who'd exploit him for their own gain-- the power becomes a curse. This is similar to the Ψiioniic's situation, where his awesome powers were historically tied to a job that sucked. Bonus points if the Page is also really bad at using his abilities to begin with, but as he's forced to do dumb things he gets better at it.
(Oh, and if he believes in luck he's likely to think that his friends are much luckier than him, for whatever reason.)temporalMessiah wrote:Involving the Page of Light, as it's come up. It's good to remember that Light is the Aspect of relevance, and the Page is the Hero who must work hardest to achieve the benefits of his Aspect. A Page of Light is capable of being a very interesting Title for a story's hero to have. He doesn't inherit importance like an Heir of Light would. He isn't intrinsically surrounded by it. He has to earn it. He can be the epitome of the rags-to-riches story, or he can take a wrong turn and end up the Former Child Star (warning, TVTropes link,) a faded blip on the radar. It all depends on his choices.
- Knight of Void (Banyu):
- The Knight of Void is strongest without a weapon- they are experts with their fists and feet. A Knight of Void trained in martial arts will only see their physical strength and agility increased upon ascending to God Tier.
- Prince of Doom (Cyano):
- Prince, Active, is “one who destroys with their aspect/destroys their aspect.” Prince is a very powerful class. Princes are possibly able to physically manifest their aspect and LITERALLY use it to destroy things. Princes also destroy their aspect; depending on what their aspect is, this could be HIGHLY dangerous or HIGHLY helpful. Doom is typically associated with destruction and death, but can be interpreted as relating to law or judgement as per “Doom“‘s etymology. When taking this into account, we are able to surmise that Doom could be equated to one’s destiny, or fate (in this case, fate holds a negative connotation, linking back to today’s views on the word doom), just as Judgement produces a verdict, essentially “dooming” one to the decided circumstances.
- Mage of Breath (Glitch):
- The Mage of Breath knows all there is to know about the wind. They can predict incoming storms, both physical and metaphorical, and cannot be blown off track.
- Witch of Life (Elegial):
- ?
- Bard of Blood (Kachi):
- Bard, passive, is defined as one who “invites destruction through their aspect/allows destruction of their aspect.” It is theorized that Bards are able to mimic the abilities of other aspects; a Bard may also be able to improve their own/others abilities based on the Bard’s aspect. I interpret Blood as bonds or connections between people. Typically blood players are invested in the inner workings of the friendships/relationships of their immediate surroundings.
- Maid of Hope (Asha):
- A Maid works through preparation, and through reaction, and is one who maintains their aspect. Their duty is to prepare others through their aspect, as well as maintain the balance of their aspect. They prepare others with their aspect for difficulties in the future, while also working on their aspect, making sure to keep the peace in their aspect. A Maid is not limited to one or the other, and can bounce between either function at a whim. Hope can be synonymous with Faith, in both senses of the word (i.e. Religious faith or faith in something/someone), or be taken literally. I am going to go a bit more in depth with my Hope definition, as I’m not happy with it as it is now. So having faith in something isn’t a tangible thing that can be measured by outside means, but instead by one’s own self. Thus rendering most Hope players to be very self involved and only certain about what they feel and are oblivious to/ignorant of how others feel. But faith is also rooted in belief and what one chooses to believe. That being said, not all people belief in the same thing, thus making Hope into a very malleable aspect and will alter itself inside of its assigned player accordingly.
- Thief of Space (Taznehru):
- The Thief of Space is very similar to the Rogue of Space, but uses the buffs they receive to size and speed for their own benefit, adding only to their own power.

A quick Kolourpaint mockup of Quest Balls. They're intended to be like giant stone Poké Balls with stone slabs in them, and I put reptile/amphibian pictograms and stuff on them because it made sense?
We haven't decided much else about them.

- Your name is ISAAC, and you are a CLOWN. Not a juggalo, because they are shitty fake clowns, but a real circus clown. Aside from being a clown, you have a number of interests- okay, no, that's a lie, you really don't, but you do play video games sometimes. Also, you talk to your friends online. But other than that, being a clown is a 24-7 gig! When you're not performing, you can always be practicing! Your chumhandle is gleefulAntic and you *often get VERY EXCITED!!!*
- Spoiler:
- The meteor carrying Isaac's egg landed in the middle of a circus, and the circus, as circuses seem uncannily wont to do, adopted him as their own, and the ringmaster, a Quagsire, in particular took special interest in him. And that's mostly that. The circus workers raised Isaac to be a clown, and Isaac made some friends online. And now SBURB.

- Spoiler:
- So I guess as a Tepig egg he crashed into the ground on a quiet acre of farmland where he was found, unfortunately, by a Breloom who owned the land. He took the egg back and raised it until it hatched. (Well, if truth be told, he was convinced by his wife, Leavanny, to raise it. He didn't want to take care of it at first, seeing as it had dropped out of the sky and everything, but since they couldn't have a child of their own he agreed to at least wait until it hatched. So he did.) I said before it was unfortunate that Scoville was found by a Grass-type family. This is of course because as we all know Grass-types aren't very fond of Fire-types. But to their credit, Leavanny and Breloom tried their hardest to raise their Tepig like a normal Pokemon, even if some things in Tepig's childhood were markedly different from a Fire-type upbringing. After he was born, they gave him the name Scoville, which definitely isn't D_What's clever pun nope not at all. They tried to convince Scoville that he wasn't different, and that they loved him, and although Scoville felt their love, the fact that they couldn't touch him without burning themselves didn't help. (That was because he'd never used his fire powers before, so they were slowly building up inside of him.) It was a strange relationship, where Scoville was both loved and feared by his adopted parents, but one that clearly couldn't last. As Grass-types, Leavanny and Breloom enjoyed eating food straight from the earth. Uncooked vegetables were their favorite. But young Scoville couldn't stand them. Oh, he tried and he tried to enjoy them like his parents, but he couldn't change who he was. So at dinner one day he took his vegetables outside to cook them himself. However, since he'd never made fire before, all the energy he had accumulated exploded out in all directions. His parents' house burned to the ground, killing his mother and almost taking his father too. Scoville realized then what a dangerous burden it was to be a Fire-type, so when he heard Breloom grieving over Leavanny's burnt body, he ran away and was never seen again by his father.
On and on he fled, through deserts and mountains, growing stronger, until eventually he reached a mid-sized town. By this time, he had evolved into a Pignite, and was ready to try to fit in again. In this town there were all sorts and kinds of Pokemon he'd never seen before in his sheltered upbringing. It was all very new and exciting for him, and his outlook on life became far more positive than it had been during his travels. He quickly found a job as an apprentice blacksmith with an old and battered Torkoal as his master. He learned swiftly both about controlling his fire and about shaping metal, which was good because by the time he had mastered the art of smithing the Torkoal passed away. It was the second death in Pignite's life, but this time he took it as a challenge rather than a defeat. He started his own forge, with a Tyrogue as a forgehand, and he eventually earned enough to buy a simple computer. At the start of our story, Scoville is working on an intricate diadem for a rich Grumpig, and it's his biggest job yet.
- More:
- Falcon punching will probably be his signature move. (also I'm not going to concern myself with his regular moves)
No quirks for me yes sirree.
Fetch modus is SHARPSHOOTER MODUS, where he has to shoot the card with fire in order for it to drop its item.
- Plot:
- Scoville's living in a midsized town, if anyone wants their character to have popped into Scoville's forge for a commission and then have become friends with him and eventually giving him SBURB that would make sense for both of us. CC, after reading Kachi's bio, maybe you want to be that person? And I was making you custom claws or something? And/or Rozewolf could live there too, so that's three of us right there.
Also, my strife specibus we determined to be hammerkind, and today I realized that it should also be anvilkind because oh my god can you imagine the shenanigans with anvils??? Just see what happens in Minecraft!
Also also, I'd prefer to be Prospit, but seeing as Rose, a Seer, and the Leijons, Heart players, were on Derse, I guess it would make sense that way. Still I'd prefer Prospit.
Also also also, since this is PMD-world, I'm just going to say the Torkoal who was forge-master in my background is the same Torkoal from PMD2. Yup, seems he decided to do something useful in his even later years.

Pendulum / Farfetch'd (Sylph of Mind)

Derse
- Picture:
- Spoiler:
- Pendulum was found and raised solely by a caring fearow. He was pretty nonrestrictive, only warning her against danger and leaving her to decide for herself if she wanted to heed said warnings. Growing up, she was quite a rascal, often hanging around groups of...less reputable Pokemon like Gligar, Staraptror, and Skarmory. In spite of this, she was loyal to her "dad" and any others that earned her respect, namely an old Victreebel, from who she learned Leaf Blade.
Pendulum has since left her original home, and busies herself as an amateur cartographer, making simple maps for new areas so more powerful pokemon have a little something to go by when they do more in-depth exploring there.
Because of this, Pen has learned both about and from many kinds of environments and Pokemon, and she also knows how to avoid trouble fairly well. On the other hand, this has also led her to expect change. She hates staying in the same area for a long time, and Pen doesn't really have a fixed home. She instead travels from town to town, looking for where her services may be needed.
Though generally good-natured, Pen tends to be a little haughty, and she'll get miffed if nobody wants to buy her maps, though she doesn't make this apparent. Since she leads a pretty active life, it greatly irritates her to see others slacking off. She will make this apparent. She tends to be short and blunt, and occasionally has trouble following simple orders.
Pen also holds some amount of disdain for fighting types.
For convenience of flight, she has hollowed out her reed and turned it into a brush or sorts, and keeps the maps curled around the outside of it.
She also painted stripes on her wings because why not.
Lum may or may not have a thing for Braviary.

Which is a good thing thing, because TALKING TO YOUR FRIENDS and GAMES are two examples of your INTERESTS. You like daydreaming about ADVENTURES but the only adventurous thing you had the chance to experience was BOATING IN THE BACKYARD LAKE. You also like READING and DRAWING though you're pretty terrible at that.
You're currently using the ANAGRAM MODUS thanks to your sister but you don't mind since you're better with it than your previous one, PUN MODUS. Your Strife Specibus is set to the very deadly PILLOWKIND.
You can be a bit OBLIVIOUS and RASH sometime but you believe that if you put your heart into it you can make the right decision. Your handle is trawlingAquaintance and you Type in a hasty maner. *Manner
- Bio:
- Hartwell's egg landed in the middle of a lake which belonged to a famous writer's resort and was found by a fresh member of the club, a young Omanyte who've just debuted with her new graphic novel, You wake up in a coffin. Having an inexplicable and mysterious feeling of responsibility she decided to adopt the young Buizel, but the feeling she had felt was more sisterly then motherly, therefore she told everyone they were siblings.
Thanks to the financial success of her instant bestseller novel, Welcome to the Big Top and her long running comic book series, Caverns, lakes, and plains she could provide the young boy with a comfortable childhood. Unfortunately this resulted in the boy never really experiencing real challenges which lead to him longing for adventures he read so much in books.

Unlike how people see her over Pesterchum, Banyu is an emotional wreck because she was never shown how to act in public, or what is wrong and what is right. Cyano / Gengar (Prince of Doom)
grinningTerror (#330033)
Derse
- Spoiler:
- Cyano is a male, shiny Gengar. His parents are a male Gengar and a female Gardevoir, he has a Kyrlia as a sister. While it seems obvious to anyone who understands Pokemon breeding, Cyano has no idea that his parents only found him. Since Pokemons come basically fully developed out of the egg (except for baby Pokemons) he even remembers the day he was born/hatched. His parents quickly noticed his odd blue glow. During his early childhood he was a rather happy kid, his family was nice and he was often told that he was something special and that he'd become someone important some day. However, as he grew older, he realized that when people said that he was special they also expected that he'd act that way. He quickly became stressed from the high expectations. He trained a lot to prove that he was special, which explains why he's already fully evolved. He also always tryes to act mature and grown up, even though he's actually still very childish at heart, though since he is afraid to dissapoint the people who expect him to be special he hides that. As a result he sometimes gets rather bitter, especially towards people who are carefree or childish themself, since he envyes them. He is sometimes a bit sadistic and he enjoys to play pranks on people, even though those pranks sometimes go to far. However, since he considers this behaviour to be childish, he often suppresses his urge to play pranks. Because of his surpressed emotions he is a bit prone to moodswings and his emotions, if he dares to show them, are often extreme. So for example, if he is happy, he either hides it and just becomes a bit nicer or he's fully euphoric or if he's angry he either hides it and becomes passive agressive or he is completly furious. He spends a lot of time on the internet.
He lives on a graveyard, which is also where his parents are working. He often helps them out.
- Cyano's family:
- The father works as a groundskeeper in a very large cementary. I decided that, while not in the PMD universes but in the main games none the less, since the graveyards are usually centralized and rather large, I'd go with something similar for this. Basically the Graveyard is very large and has elements of a park. Cyano and his family live in a house on the graveyard, a bit away from other people.
Anyways, as I said, the fathers is the groundskeeper. He also works as the head of the household, keeping the finances in check and the likes. He is rather serious and while a good father, doesn't really know how to show his deep care for his family properly, as such he often seems a bit cold.
The mother is much more lighthearted then the father. She does much of the housework, like cooking the meals but also has a little shop near the house where she sells flowers and decoration for graves.
The sister is about the same age as Cyano, however, she is much less mature, since she didn't grow up under the stress of expectation. She comes after her mother and is rather carefree and happy, however, like gengar, she enjoys playing pranks, though hers are much more harmless then Cyanos. When they were younger, she and Cyano were VERY close, however, as they grew up they grew a bit more distant from eachother. They both still care for eachother though, there is no bad blood between them. However, a few years a go, while he was still a Haunter, Cyano had a little crush on his sister, wish he never told anyone about and is secretly a bit ashamed about.
To be clear, both Cyano and his sister help their parents with work on the graveyard, though it seems clear that his sister prefers to work in their mothers shop while Cyano often goes to help their dad.
This is the point where I realize that I should have put this in spoiler tags right away, it's getting a bit long for something I have only developed "a little"...
- Spoiler:
- I don't remember if I made it clear but he'll use the Gravekind strifespecibus
His Fetch modus is the JINGLE MODUS, everytime he puts something inside it, it makes a jingle. To release an item, Cyano has to replay the Jingle on his Poké Flute
His "quirk", besides some possible odd word choices, will be his odd laughter and his choice of emoticons.

Land of Grain and Thunder
- Spoiler:
- First of all, it would be better to talk about his older brother: Ashura. A Quilladin, like Glitch, he was found by a lonely Sceptile while he adventured through the lands. The Sceptile happily took care of Ashura, taking him back to where he lived. A few years later, when the Sceptile was with Ashura in an expedition once again, the Quilladin accidentally wandered off, but ended up finding something: An egg, that hatched into a Chespin much like him, but this time being named Glitch.
It didn't take long, however, until the Sceptile passed away. Thus, Ashura ended up having to take care of Glitch, using whatever limited knowledge he had at the time and becoming much more serious and quiet as time passed, though still very caring for the younger brother.
Glitch himself, though, is extremely cheerful and optimistic. Also relatively talkative, the little Chespin is friends with mostly everyone he meets. He's always sure of himself, knowing what to do no matter what. A fan of roleplaying, he has a small quirk of using actions between asterisks from time to time in chat. He also doesn't swear very often and loves knights, admiring his "father"'s species, Sceptiles, for their powerful Leaf Blade due to its similarities with actual blades.
Thus, as his strife specibus, he utilizes Bladekinds, starting off with improvised swords because of his lack of an ACTUAL one. As for his fetch modus, he has the Bug Modus: Not the literal sort of "bugs", the one that is used as a type, instead his works in that every time he captchalogues something its graphics become glitched and broken, making it harder to identify. In compensation, any of the objects captchalogued can be used at any time: The only problem is knowing which ones he should actually use.

- Elegial is a female Meditite. Her meteor landed on an isolated mountain in the north of the land, where she was taken in by an Abomasnow. The Abomasnow raised Elegial for the first eight years of her life. Once her adoptive mother died, Elegial returned to the mountain where she had landed, and found within the crater of her meteor numerous important items, including a Damage Calculator that seems to display how Pokemon attacks will result, and tomes telling of the mystical numbers governing Pokemon like Effort Values. Elegial took these artifacts to heart, and believes that correct application of knowledge can solve any problem. The meteor also contained a computer that allows her to access the Internet.
Elegial treats life as a problem to be solved, which limits her relationships as she finds emotions difficult and illogical. She often lacks tact, which alienates some people she meets. She prefers talking about her own interests and finds it hard listening to other people and relating to their situation.
Elegial lives alone, occasionally training against the Sneasels and Machops that live in the mountains.

- Spoiler:
- When Kachi's meteor landed in the middle of nowhere, the first Pokémon on the scene happened to be a Weavile named Sutai, who, recognizing a Sneasel egg, took it as her own. Over the next few years, Sutai taught Kachi how to survive on his own, and stressed the importance of personal strength above all, telling him over and over not to depend on others if it can be prevented. As you may imagine, his childhood was rather harsh, but he never complained, and took to heart everything Sutai taught him.
Eventually, Sutai left, telling Kachi that she thought he was finally able to live on his own. Kachi took the opportunity to begin traveling, and see everything that he could not be shown living in the wilderness. He came across many communities and cities in which Pokémon worked together to create something huge, and his belief in the supremacy of the one began to erode.
He started to see that in many cases, the whole was more than the sum of its parts, and that one Pokémon alone could not live life to the fullest, not as a member of a community could.
After this revelation, he moved into a small town bordering the forest, and slowly became accustomed to living with others. Although he still frequently goes off on his own, and still believes very strongly in personal strength, he has become satisfied with his life as a part of a community.

- Strewomorphic Modus:
- This modus is supposed to echo a certain old program called Microsoft Bob, whose main purpose was seemingly to embarrass anyone who had any idea how to use computers and confuse anyone who didn't. It's even the origin of everybody's favourite font, Comic Sans MS. True story.
The modus consists of a number of different rooms, all arbitrarily and inconsistently created depending on the contents. The items are somewhat randomly thrown into it and sometimes even hidden behind or in useless objects like chairs, sofas, and beds.
And when you go near over an object in the room, any object, a random gaudy assistant Pokémon will come up and tell you a useless tip about it. These assistant Pokémon will also spout inane "protips" about random things at random times, too, seemingly selected for maximum annoyance.
The name is from "strew" (scatter about) and "skeuomorphic".
- Background and personality (wall of text):
- Taznehru is a member of a mysterious Archeops clan that lives in a distant, little-known forest located at the foot of a mountain. There are a number of Pokémon (especially within view of the forest) who have heard of the forest and the clan, but for the most part, it's regarded as fairly obscure. There are only a few other Archeops clans to be found in the entire world, after all, leading a lot of Pokémon who live far away from them to think the species is simply extinct.
A lot of the Archens in Taz's clan really detest the outside world, and often tend to act unscrupulously toward anybody that wanders into their forest, avalanching them with rocks and arrows from speciality Archen crossbows and/or snatching up their belongings without a second thought. (They rarely try to hit vital areas or even hurt the outsiders very badly at all, though, as their main goal is simply to get them to go away and tell others to keep out, too.)
This unusually violent attitude stems from a war they had a long time ago with a neighbouring group of Aerodactyls when the Aerodactyls came in unprovoked from the adjacent mountain and tried to take over the forest. It was a very brutal war and although the Archeops drove them away, many trees were destroyed and many Archeops died trying to protect the younger generation. After that, the Archens and Archeops became very suspicious of outsiders, and the remaining Archeops urged the younger members of the clan to never trust outsiders again and to drive them away whenever one came in. The Archeops council hoped that by bluffing and convincing others that they were ferocious and not to be disturbed that they might prevent future attacks on the forest, and so far, it seems to have worked. Many, many, many generations after the war, however, which is to say thousands upon thousands of years, a lot of Archens have forgotten that that single Aerodactyl war in the past is the main reason that they hate outsiders, and even though they remember being told about the war, tend to think that all outsiders are mean by default.
Taz is somewhat different from the others in his clan. Instead of going along with the narrative most of them subscribe to, he is deeply ashamed of them for not thinking for themselves and wants to know more about the bigger picture. However, at the same time, he's somewhat aloof, selfish and proud, and has a vague dream of somehow restoring the clan to its former greatness largely by himself; though he is not sure how he will do this, he believes that if he can, it will make him great. (He's mainly thinking about restoring it standards-wise and changing people's minds, not being super-promiscuous and leaving a bunch of eggs everywhere... it would probably be a major moment of Fridge Horror for him if he ever realised that his goal could be interpreted that way. XD)
Although he has made contact with the outside a few times, it has only been very carefully and in secret, since he does not want the others to know. Also, the majority of these interactions have prompted the outsiders to try to "help" him in various ways, which he doesn't really like since he doesn't feel he needs help with anything. His attitude in most things he does is that no one else can ever help him accomplish anything because only he is competent to accomplish it, especially the way he wants it accomplished. Even if he isn't an expert, he always seems to assume that he knows more about things than other Pokémon do.
He wears a cloak because that's a common thing to wear in his clan, though not every Archen wears one (it would probably be a bluish forest-green if coloured in), and a shield depicting Cobalion to symbolise his endless fight for justice and truth, as well as his unfailingly strong heart (which is also the source of his chumhandle).
- Stuff about Taz that other people might want to know:
- His name comes from the Japanese verb tazuneru, which means "to ask for", or "to quest for"; I picked it because the latter fits his story really well, and the former fits him kind of ironically since he doesn't like to ask people for help, at least not in a way that makes him look weak.
- I spelled the name Taznehru partly because I didn't want to be a "glittery otaku this time" (my words), and partly because naming things dictionary words sometimes feels stupid, so I based it on the "kewl respelling" タズネール tazune-ru.
- Taz is supposed to be an opaque character since he doesn't want anybody to know much of anything about him. He just kind of does things without telling anybody why, so I was telling the story in a way that reflected that.
- He was hiding in the shed because he didn't want anyone to know he was in the area since then they might find out he was an Archen, and then he might have to explain where he came from and why, and then the other Archens might find out he was associating with outsiders and things might possibly get ugly, especially if he got sent back home for whatever reason (none of that would necessarily actually happen, but that's what he's afraid of). He climbed up into the tree ready to attack because he was convinced a bunch of Pokémon had already started to find evidence he was there and were trying to find him (again, not necessarily the truth, but that's what he's afraid of). I sort of hinted at both of those things in his story but didn't say them outright since none of the characters are supposed to know that or learn it for a long time, and I thought it might mess people up to know it ahead of time.
- Spark, Drega and I agreed that (as I was kind of planning) Glitch is going to cross paths with Taz and Taz is going to try to attack him to try to threaten him into finding him a new place to hide, probably failing at it because Glitch is a kind of tough species and way too silly to take him seriously. Taz then probably forms a reluctant friendship with him as a last resort and gets persuaded into playing the game as part of a bargain, or something. Anyway, this is the update I'm going to be making, so I'll figure out the full details then.

THE STORY SO FAR
(Updated thanks to Drega. I'll try to double-check it later.)
(Updated thanks to Drega. I'll try to double-check it later.)
- Spoiler:
- Banyu found twelve discs in a mysterious temple. Intrigued, she gave her findings to her friend Glitch, who then relayed them to Tobias.
- Banyu also told Cyano, who agreed to tell someone else.
- Tobias told Isaac, who was extremely enthusiastic and in turn told Asha, who confirmed to Banyu that she wished to play the game.
- Glitch contacted Scoville's smithy inquiring about the game. He was unfortunately much too busy though, as Glitch soon told Tobias.
- Tobias also tried talking to Scoville to try to get a job and also to maybe try to change Scoville's mind if possible. After hearing his impressive list of talents, Scoville agreed to hire him the next week. He also considered joining in the game at a later date, if it would be convenient. Tobias then informed Glitch of his progress.
- Scoville
eagerlywent to break his forgehand the bad news. Unfortunately, the forgehand was livid and prepared to kill. Panicking, Scoville pushed him into the forge where he met his death. Unsure what else to do, Scoville told Glitch about the incident, and finally agreed to play the game, bringing the player count up to 6 and solidifying the friendship between Scoville and Glitch. - Elegial, taking shelter from an alpine snowstorm by hiding in a cave, decided to pester Glitch, who told her about the game. Elegial decided to play the game, and offered to invite other friends to do so as well.
- Unexpectedly, Glitch and Isaac each got messages from a mysterious Pidgey, asking if they knew of any good places to hide. They were unsure how to react, but each more or less said they couldn't help.
- Banyu contacted Glitch and compared notes. They counted six players, not knowing that Isaac and Asha had also agreed to play.
- Cyano, who had already befriended Elegial, decided to talk to her to inform her of the game. Elegial told him that she had already been offered to play it by Glitch, which made Cyano jealous.
- Meanwhile, Hartwell H. O., unaware of his friends being recruited to play a game, decided to go boating to pass the time. Thus, he did not see that someone was trying to contact him via Pesterchum.
- Scoville, back in the forge, thought about the implications of Tyrogue's death. His train of thought was interrupted by Tobias, who told him that he would be able to arrive the next day. Scoville avoided mentioning Tyrogue to Tobias, instead saying offhand that his position was open. Scoville would have to bury Tyrogue before Tobias arrived.
- Elegial was also contacted by the mysterious Pidgey, and advised the Pidgey to fight the assaulting Seviper head-on, despite the low chance of success. Taznehru, who had been masquerading as the Pidgey, ended the conversation and sat frustratedly in a small shed filled with crates of rotten onions. Resolving to take action, Taznehru hid in a tree and prepared to attack whoever came by next.
- Glitch prepared to go meet Banyu, taking a few Oran Berries and equipping a wooden sword to fight with. Then, he set off for the beach.
- Kachi reported to his friend Pendulum rumors of a strange and possibly dangerous Pokémon appearing in the forest near where he lived. Pendulum was skeptical, but cautioned him to approach the situation in a logical manner. The two discussed playing the game and agreed to contact Banyu about it.
- Banyu found twelve discs in a mysterious temple. Intrigued, she gave her findings to her friend Glitch, who then relayed them to Tobias.

- About GMT:
- You know GMT? GMT is London's time zone, which they thought it would be absolutely brilliant to make the world's standard generic time zone. Because of this, it's now very useful for coordinating events across multiple time zones. And on top of that, now that it's a universal standard it isn't even affected by "summer time" (DST), which means it's the same year round.
Windows and Linux at least should be able to set up a second clock in the taskbar on GMT; I dunno about Mac. Anyway, in case you need it, you can go to thetimenow.com to find out what time it is RIGHT NOW, the moment you are reading this, in GMT.

That's probably enough reserved posts; I can't imagine I'd possibly need any more space than this.
Now you can post all you like. I don't think there's any need to since we already have a thread to discuss the roleplay, but eh, whatever.

Huh, I didn't know Australia did DST too. (sorry I keep forgetting where you're from Xaber, plz b my friend) Thanks for doing all this research and thread-digging! I can't stress enough how nice it is to have this RP so organized.
