Hehe, I know the show it's parodying.
My jazz band was flying to New York and we were on one of those planes that have TVs in the seats, and I made everyone watch Too Cute because it had kittens. It was amazing.

Okay I'm mad at the On the Origin of Species guy now. Omanyte and Omastar are ammonites, a type of prehistoric cephalopod; THEY ARE NOT SNAILS. SNAILS ARE GASTROPODS. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE. [/rant]

Both belongs to the phylum of Mollusca.
Besides, he said "at a push" Doesn't that mean something similar to "kind of a stretch"? I might be wrong about though?
Yeah, I'm probably are.
Anyway, I'm not trying to defend him or something, just pointing stuff out.

Re: Pokemon general chat: Pokemon for breakfast?
The guy was just naming some pokemon that look vaguely like snails, as a lead-in to his reveal that the slowpoke family is based on snails. You can't deny that Omanyte kind of looks like a snail, despite being clearly based on something else. Nothing to get upset over.

But this is cA, he EXISTS to rage over people being wrong about aquatic invertebrates.

Not all aquatic invertebrates. For example, I don't give a damn about jellyfish unless people are lumping them in with cephalopods because THEY ARE NOT EVEN REMOTELY THE SAME THING.

granted, those aren't actually teeth, but they look like it at a glance.
also turtles aren't the first thing anyone thinks of for "terrifying mouths"

Re: Pokemon general chat: Pokemon for breakfast?
OBJECTION!
Those teeth are to help the turtles eat jellyfish. They're immune to stings, but the jellies are slimy and stuff so if they didn't have the scary teeth-things they would just slide out of the turtle's mouth.
