with x and y oficially coming out in nine short days its time to ask the hardest question of all
which version are you getting and why

im gettin y because of all the version exclusives that ive seen y has had the better ones
yveltal skrelp spritzee and the y megaforms have all been better than their x counterparts

I went Y. I couldn't care less about legends (we'll get the other one eventually) and further (impossibly) less about legendary formes which I'll never use. Charizard X may end up being competitively viable (sorry Y, it's not gonna happen short of MASSIVE stat boosts across the board) but not too much and I can just swap items with someone, and even then I'm not likely to use it. Mostly...

I wanna show some poison-love. And Water/Poison is cool, and Skrelp doesn't look like it's gonna be another Tentacruel, though its stats could easily end up being mediocre. Which is why I voted Y. I do like Xerneas though. (As much as Yveltal really. I think they're both great.)

Also smelly can-can-tou-can > can-dy. But only just.

i have no idea which one i'm gonna get if i end up getting one at all; if i somehow happen to run into like $200, then i'd get myself a 2ds and whatever version my bro doesn't get

I have no idea which one to get. Out of the two version-exclusive duos we've seen so far, I dislike Spritzee's evolution slightly less and I like Clauncher slightly more. If I don't hear anything about what other version-exclusives there are before they come out, I may just have to do what I did with BW/BW and pick my version based on the one that less people I know in real life are getting.

In a world where everyone has WiFi access, that is no longer at issue! So I err slightly towards the one which has anything I'll use in-game. Otherwise I flip a coin.

Y, because I choose it at first anyway, and then every announcement with a version exclusive flavour to it has made me want Y even more (With the exception of maybe Charizard X being better than Charizard Y).

I'm getting Y version, partially because I chose it ages ago and partially because I think everyone is leaning heavily toward X version at this point in time.

Mostly because of MegaCharizard X, though. There's not a whole lot of other reason to get X version.

Well, at least our poll says something different. So far, it looks like there are twice as many who want Y then there are ones who want X

I'm mostly getting Y since my trading partner is going for X. I don't see too many differences between the two yet, so I'm pretty ambivalent about the choice.

I'm getting X simply because I've made up my mind months ago.

Also, Y is a totally unreliable, cheating letter.

with muffinz' tidbit there, i'm pretty much completely sold to x right now. even though i really like both legends, Xerneas appealed to me just a bit before Yvetal did, and i began leaning toward X first. also clauncher. also megacharizardX . only problem is mewtwoX, but from the looks of it, at least one of you will have no problem trading your mewtwoiteY for my X version.

for a moment there i thought "mewtwoiteY" was a backwards word or something. it still looks like gibberish.
