I have no idea what my final team will be, I'll just catch things that I want to catch and use some of the things and later replace some things with other things and eventually I will be at the end of the game with a team and the team I have at that point would be considered my "final team".

I don't even have plans for a final team other than Greninja and superbadass megavolution Charizard.

I am really fucking glad they decided to use actual music in this game instead of MIDIs and soundfonts.

So my team is starting to not suck slightly, in that I am using more than one-and-a-half pokèmon.

Funnelcake the funnykin
William the spoopa
Quacklin' the Farfetch'd (the stupid[er] nickname is because he's from the in-game trade)
and Chuggaconroy the Azurill. (He's still freshly-caught and untrained, but hopefully I can get him evolved soon.)
The last two spots are filled up with Apollo J. the Zigzagoon and DixxMcGee the bundlebee for Pickup abuse.

Does anyone know of any good places to grind for the first gym? I haven't fought all the availible trainers yet, but I know I won't be quite ready for the gym yet even when I do, and all the wild pokèmon I've seen so far have pretty pitiful EXP yields.

Umm... what do you mean by PA??? I feel like I should know what you're abbreviating there but I can't remember it.

Yes, I have been going through route 22, but I don't know how long it is or how many trainers are it it. My first three team members are level 10-11 and Chuggaa is level 5. I'm sure I'll need to be at 14-15 for the gym, so unless there's LOADS of trainers on this route, I've gotta grind at least some.

Hey. Ain't been here in a while, sorry about that.

I already have X, and I'm enjoying it a lot. I really love this game, it's great. I've managed to stay spoiler free on the plot, but I pretty much knew the entire dex of new Pokemon before I got my copy, so I could plan my team.

I got X on the 11th, several hours before midnight, because GAME decided to break the release date and give it early. I had preordered because I wanted to guarantee I got the game when it was released, so I went into town (oh yeah, I'm at uni now, so in a completely different part of the UK to where I was before) and picked it up.

I think I was awake till 5 on the first night. I was awake till 5 on the second night too. Really should stop that, it's bad for my health.

I'm really, really enjoying all the new Pokemon, they're really fun, and the games themselves look stunning and play brilliantly. I absolutely adore and abuse the shit out of customisation, it's one of my favourite features!

In terms of my game progress, I'm on route 14, having just beaten Clemont. That badge was ridiculously easy. The plus side is that I got the much needed Thunderbolt.

Fletcher (Talonflame) @ Lvl 39
Po (Pangoro) @ Lvl 40
Tyrone (Tyrantrum) @ Lvl 39
Basil (Heliolisk) @ Lvl 39
Rosie (Floette) @ Lvl 40.

I in the end decided to give up on Basil and just evolve him. I figured that Surf/Thunderbolt/Grass Knot/Thunder Wave was a good enough moveset, even if I knew I might be missing out on things (possibility of Earth Power...). I haven't evolved Rosie yet, though, because I'm CONVINCED she has some better moves coming. Petal Dance and one more good Fairy move would be brilliant. Ideally, I'd love for someone to have a complete level-up moveset for Floette, so that I know when I can evolve it. Problem with going in completely blind is you have no idea what moves everyone gets and when.

Anyway, I'm really enjoying my Pokemon X, and hey again.

As for the sword Pokémon I wanted a name something like "Diving Taillow" or tobikondeiru Subame (because I still kinda like Kojirou I wanted to name it something related to swallows and the Tsubamegaeshi) but because of the character limit I had to settle for just "Subame".

So now it kinda looks like I ironically named it for a weaker Pokémon to be funny.

And I was using the Combusken, but I stopped because I got bored of it, which I wasn't expecting. Part of it was the lack of being able to nickname it, I really need to nickname things.

Also, if anyone is postgame and bore,d could you please just level up a Floette until she stops learning new moves? I really want to know the level-up moveset.

you can check out your 3ds friends without closing the game. just press home and then choose the friends tab. For some reason you don'T need to close the game for this.
Another way is connecting to the internet. If you traded codes with someone and that person is online he/she will appear in the Friends list.

fuck yes. got a hawlucha, hariyama, sableye, and inkay via wonder trade. I love this thing.

also stealth rock definitely stays for the full battle. friend of mine showed me that.

got the aurorasaurus and named it Brontoth, which is a spore reference but it also stands for brontosaurus + hoth in case you're a huge nerd and you actually watched all the star wars movies
