Re: What are your favorite games
I've been binging on multiple Final fantasies these past few weeks, so maybe that. Though I am starting to get a little burnt out...
Favourite fighting game is Dragonball Z: Budokai 3, really solid fighting game.
Favourite Shooter would be the Metroid prime series, 2 in particular.
Any Pokémon and digimon world: Dusk are pretty tied in my favouriteness rpg other than FF. On the one hand Pokemon has been around longer and obviosuly I'm a fan of it, having completed 1 from each set, buuut Digimon is still pretty memorable, and 'catching' them all is a lot easier to accomplish while still needing the other version to accomplish, and the ability to go forward and backwards and sideways on evolutionary lines is really neat. Though, the random encounter rate is ridiculous, and the difficulty starts high but gets laughably absent after a few digivolutions until the final 3 bosses.

Alright, since I'm still unsure what game do or don't count, I'll just throw Skyrim and Minecraft out there.

Re: What are your favorite games
since this is probabbly going to be a short-lived thread, why don't we talk about this:
if you had to pick 5 games that you'd have for the rest of your life but no other games, what would you bring and why?
I would take with me:
Disgaea 3 (Vita), because i can spend well over 500 hours in that game and still be working towards new shit.
Pokemon X/Y, because DUH.
Megaman X3, because i could play that game for a loooong fucking time.
Torchlight 2, because, again, i can play it for a very long time
and Sonic 3 and Knuckles, because you can't beat the best.

I'm partial to Go Fish, OJ. Cards against humanity is alright, Munchkin has it's moments but is somehow lacking, I don't larp and every time I play the Game of Life I always end up with a college degree. Or a pattern of infinite chaos depending.

Re: What are your favorite games
I don't know, can you imagine having a single pokemon game with no chance of getting the other 600+ pokemon? It's be torture. Unless you can trade with other people, then yeah fine, Y.
Fire emblem awakening has SO MANY different support conversations between so many different well rounded characters, not to mention the difficulties mean you could be playing for a long time to get things right.
I'm deciding between FF6 and FF3 as obligatory final fantasy representatives... ont he one had, FF6 is pretty long and has a lot of characters to train to max, lot's of areas to explore and lots of ways you can break it wide open. However, FF3 has a lot of job classes you can work on, and I really like the invincible... I'll probably say FF6, only because of how many characters you can use.
Jak 3 had managed to keep my attention for a very, very long time when I was younger. I don't know how long it could keep my attention nowadays, but I think it would be a safe choice.
Lastly, I think a change of pace would be dragonball Z: Budokai 3, since it's a fighting game and could keep me entertained through the pure adreniline rush of keeping my reaction times sharp to keep ahead.

Re: What are your favorite games
You people are all forgetting something REALLY important.
You are never again allowed to play a new game.
Because of this, I'd only choose Minecraft and Skyrim, both games that can be played over and over again and have LOADS of mods. ANd since I only chose two games, I still have three slots open for possibly awesome games in the future. Like the game Hussie is working on.

Yeah, but have lost the option to play any game that hasn't been released yet, since you've already picked your 5 games and now you can't play anything else ever again

Yeah but once you play any newly released game, that's one of the 5 you can only play. In my opinion It'd be better sticking with a game you know you'll love rather than risk locking yourself into a game that doesnt' reach the hype you were expecting.

Re: What are your favorite games
Simple solution: Don't play the game right away, duh. You are locked into it for all eternity, you can wait a little and reads lots of reviews before actually picking a game. I prefer not being able to play a game at launch over not being able to play it at alltinning3 wrote:Yeah but once you play any newly released game, that's one of the 5 you can only play.
