so, we've come back around to pokemon again?

TOO BAD, IT'S TIME TO TALK ABOUT THE LITTLE PRINCE AND HOW IT IS THE BEST BOOK.
I FOUND AND READ IT FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 5TH GRADE TODAY
AND YEAH, THERE'S PRETTY  MUCH NO WAY THIS SHOULDN'T BE REQUIRED READING IN SCHOOL.

IN FACT, I'M REQUIRING YOU TO READ IT, RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW.
edit: hopy shit. I tried looking at the site on a computer without a popup blocker, and I got bombarded by ads, to the point of making the page unreadable. lemme find a better site.

i've now made a pact with myself to read this book annually.

Guys.

Last week of gen 5.
Last week of gen 5 battles.

Last week of the metagame potentially. Fairy might balance dragons but Mega evolutions could centralise the game more than anything we have ever seen before (since it may be suicide to not use one, and many will be unviable, which means... Everyone picks one of the best Pokemon with nearly identical movesets because Ability and Item are preset. Myself: I fear mega Lucario will run rampant, far worse than scizor ever will. And don't get me started on a mega scizor... Though it won't be as good if it replaces technician.).

So.

This weekend.

Battle bonanza? Get 'cho teams ready before they become redundant!
Lookin' at you, Bronzong!

little prince is a good story so far, has a lot of interesting stuff to say about perspective

for some reason i was led to believe it was a children's book, so i never took the time to actually read it

mmmhmmm. the whole thing is rather profound, i'd say. the fox's dialog is what got me most.
also, here's a simple .pdf. not quite as nice to look at, but shouldn't have any obnoxious ads.

d_what wrote:Why, what DID the fox say?

haha, i was actually considering making a parody where i play that clip then read bits of his dialog.

WHAT DOES THE FOX SAY:

"I cannot play with you. I am not tamed...
It is an act too often neglected, It means to establish ties.
To me, you are still nothing more than a little
boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys. And I have no need
of you. And you, on your part, have no need of me. To you, I am nothing more
than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we
shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I
shall be unique in all the world. . . ”

“One only understands the things that one tames,”

You become responsible forever for what you have tamed.

WHAT THE FOX SAY:

"And then look: you see the grain-fields down yonder? I do not eat bread. Wheat is of no use to me. The
wheat fields have nothing to say to me. And that is sad. But you have hair
that is the colour of gold. Think how wonderful that will be when you have
tamed me! The grain, which is also golden, will bring me back the thought of
you. And I shall love to listen to the wind in the wheat. . . ”

WHAT THE FOX SAY:

“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret:
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible
to the eye.”

It sure looks like a weird furry thing, but I think it was made for the mainstream. That was my first reaction too.
