Please help me find my cat

I lost my cat three months ago. She is all white and named Lemon, and I've had her since 1st grade. My mom said she spent a long time looking for her, and we're putting up signs today. She doesn't have a collar or microchip, and I am so scared someone took her to a shelter and she died. Is there any way I can improve my chances of finding my cat? A reward, an ad in the newspaper? What are my chances of finding her? Please, any help is good.

I'd like to help if I could, though the part about not living in the US probably makes it a bit harder... But I guess finding as many ways to warn people about her as possible would probably be the best idea in this case, so maybe you should try the ad in the newspaper? The reward thing might make people more motivated to find the cat too, I suppose...

Have you tried going to any nearby animal shelters? If that's something you're worried about, then you should check there first. Otherwise, you should just try putting up signs around your neighborhood. Cats generally won't travel really long distances, and if it's been three months then chances are she was taken in by somebody else. Good luck.

She is 8 years old.

Did you mostly keep her inside or was she allowed to roam freely?

She is an inside/outside cat. She came in when she wanted to, she went out when she wanted to.

Well, I heard that cats usually live for 7 to 14 years, usually around 7 if they spend a lot of time outside and around 14 if they usually stay inside...

I'll keep a lookout in the northeast. Try putting out some cat food and waiting.
