Ripe for Conquest

Post by Gelatino on Sun Jul 21, 2013 11:02 pm

I write a ms paint adventure.  It's about the 1940s and aliens and birds and business rivalries and stuff.  It's not that exciting yet, but I have huge plans for it.  Good things take time.

I'm not gonna post updates or accept commands from this thread.  That would be too complicated.  I'm just gonna share news and stuff, i guess.  And maybe discuss, if anybody's up to it.

Here's the thread where I accept commands, and here's the mirror.  If you want to get caught up, then I highly recommend reading the mirror; that's how the comic is supposed to be read.

Like I said, it hasn't gotten very far yet.  Almost 400 pages with some flashes, but the plot is just barely beginning to show its face.  You can read it if you want, or not.  I think it's pretty good, though.  PhanDex reads it too, so he can vouch for me.

I vouch for you.
But really, I don't read many fanventures, but RfC is one of them. Really cool writing.
Also, it has Gerald, you can't go wrong with that stuff.

When I first started this, I had no idea what the plot was gonna be. So you only get to be Damon for about 50 pages before you be someone else and basically nothing important happens during that time. But now I have the basic plot structure hammered out.

I also rely heavily on commands for this adventure; I know where I'm going, but I don't know how I'm gonna get there. Lots of decisions in the story are made based on ideas I get from commands. Gerald wouldn't exist if it weren't for the command to lift up the carpet.

I've been reading and I'm around page 200, enjoying what I've read so far. The art style is really nice, too, especially the backgrounds.
